Same Name, Different Song - You Choose!

Quick! Choose which song you like better: Kix "Sex" or Nickelback, "S.E.X." I love 'em both because each is unique and catchy as all get out. I always find it interesting when bands record songs of the same name...but the lyrics are completely different. I should make this "Same Name, Different Song" business a regular series here at BBG! Anyway, which do you like better and why: Kix or Nickelback?

KIX - "Sex"

Nickelback "S.E.X"

Nickelback's has a heavier feel to it but still they don't do it for me. Reminds me too much of something in your mouth and that song is annoying.

After 1!

Compare a Nickelback song to any other song and the any other song will win everytime.

And far be it from me to intrude on a potential new segment here on this board...but please let me throw out the first suggestion..."Rattlesnake Shake" Motley Crue vs. Skid Row version. Let the slugfest begin.

There're tons of songs in this category.
I filled two hour long podcasts playing "Same name, different song" - Eat the Rich by Motorhead & Aerosmith, Mary Jane by Megadeth & Love/Hate, Downtown by Warrior Soul & The Hangmen etc.

Oh, to answer your question, Kix!

Kix. No question. I agree with metal boy. No comparison.
And although I think Motley is the best band ever, I have to go with Skid Rows Rattlesnake Shake.

Do i even need to answer this question?

Hey Gary, the Led Zep song is actually "Nobody's Fault But Mine" but anyway... Aerosmith wins. And so does Kix!!

Okay, Mike, since you had to gild the lilly after KixRules sublime final word, I might as well ruin it, too...

Look, I love Aerosmith's "Nobody's Fault", but really? Better than Zep's "Nobody's Fault But Mine"? Zep by a nose, IMHO. Good thing there's no real answer as the song titles are not identical.

Speaking of Aerosmith. They also do a killer version of "Rattlesnake Shake". Check out the 10:37 version from '73 on YouTube.

This whole subject is awesome!

"Heaven Tonight" -- Cheap Trick or Yngwie?

p.s. Hey, KixRules! Kix Rules, man! "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah"!!!

Hey Metalboy, Yes Aerosmith do a GREAT version of Rattlesnake Shake but do yourself a favor and check out (if you haven't already) Peter Green's version from Live In Boston Vol. 1. (or Vol. 2 for that matter) All 24:39 minutes of it! It will seriously kick your butt! Such a great groove and so raw sounding. Awesome blues rock. And while your at it, on the same album check out the 12:56 minute version of The Green Manalishi that Priest covered in the 70's. It's just as good!
