DVR Alert: Aerosmith on '60 Minutes'

Lara Logan of CBS will air a profile of Aerosmith on 60 Minutes next Sunday, March 11 at 7 p.m. ET. Lara interviewed the band on their last tour and some of that footage will be included in the piece.

Aerosmith is actively recording and apparently the new stuff sounds just like Rocks-era Aerosmith. If this is true, I'll be over the moon. Rocks is my favorite album of all time and while I don't believe lighting strikes twice (yes, I just made an Aerosmith pun), I do believe the Bad Boys of Boston + producer Jack Douglas have what it takes (another pun!) to knock it out of the park record-wise once again.

Aerosmith is supposed to tour starting in June. I'm really hoping the 60 Minutes special will lead to the official tour announcement with dates. I want to plan a trip around an Aerosmith show so I'm hoping for some cool cities to choose from... and quite frankly, the sooner the better.

There is nothing that would even remotely make me believe Aerosmith is capable of making an album even close to "Rocks". With the below mediocre releases since "Done With Mirrors" I'm not sure how anyone could even get their hopes up that Aerosmith could return to what they once were. "Done With Mirrors was, in my opinion, the last real Aerosmith recording.

I'd like to be wrong here... But there is just no way.

I'm sure all of the loyal Aerosmith fans will love it no matter what. That's the worst part about it. Aerosmith, like many other bands, doesn't have to put out a great release for their fans to buy it.

Absolutely agree 110% with you, Rock-It!

1985's "Done With Mirrors", their reunion record, was their last great album. Their remake of Joe Perry's "Let The Music Do The Talkin'" alone, made it so. If you listen to that version of the song, you swear that coulda been off "Rocks". It really did pick up where "Rocks" left off.

If they go after that sound, there is a chance we really could wind up with "Rocks II". Say your Rock'n'Roll Prayers and we just might. H*ll, even if it hits somewhere in the middle, they got a shot.

I wonder if Logan got 'em doin' any stuff in the studio. This is one "60 Minutes" segment I am really lookin' forward to!

wow, girl, I'm surprised that you don't respect their efforts after DWM, since they were supposedly on the (band)wagon and their "sobriety" is what made them true artists who reclaimed their spot as rock legends. Man, the likes of Tipper Gore and her posse were 'pump'ing sobriety in a big way and tons of money went into marketing D/A facilities. Too bad they weren't truly in treatment, but its ironic that their faux sobriety help support different agendas.

However, I am pleased that you like the song Jaded. It kinda makes me think that its your apology song.

Anyway, I would really like to "bury the hatchet" and I hope you join me @ M3. I think I would like to rock with you...if only for a day or two. peace/rock on

Good luck, psycho. Anyway, IMHO(!), and in agreement with Rock-It, nothing worthwhile after DWM. Except, as you mention, "Shut Up And Dance" and "Jaded".

If there are two good songs on this album I will be shocked. For the last 2 decades that's all they have been good for off each album. Along with Jaded, I liked Pink. the song not the "singer".

Glamrockerarch! Sorry about that, bro. Yeah, I actually got hacked so now I've got a new one. Just Email Allyson yer Email address, I'll get it from her and Email you so you can follow suit. Thanks for reachin' out.

p.s. Scott! Yer right. I forgot about "Pink", tho I'm afraid I can't agree with ya about "two good songs per album".
