This Shinedown Video For 'Enemies' Rocks

For whatever reason, I missed picking up the new Shinedown album Amaryllis on the day it was released. Usually I pre-order things on Amazon way in advance so I never have to think about it again, but this one just slipped through my fingers.

So anyway, Amaryllis came out at the end of March and the band has been doing the requisite promotions. This includes creating an awesome video for the song "Enemies." The video is so well done... and probably really true to life. Sometimes it's nice to have a video tell a real story without anyone extra -- just the actual guys in the band.

How many have picked up this album? Thoughts?

Awesome video set to a great song. If that doesn't make you want to beat the shit out of something or someone, please do yourself a favor and grow a pair.

As for the ablum ? Good, but not as thorough as Sound of Madness or diverse as Leave a Whisper. Out of the 12 tunes, I would say 6-7 stay in the playlist, so to me that's a good album.

Great album from start to finish. Amazing Band. Seen them twice this year, once at House of Blues in Myrtle Beach and on the Uproar Tour. Awesome band live, always put on a great show.

Best songs on the new CD:

Enemies (of course)
Unity
Amaryllis
My Name

If you haven't picked it up, do yourself a favor and get it. You won't be disappointed.

Hahaha!!! This video is quite simply one of THE funniest things I've seen this year! What a Nerd Party! Stupid Music by and for Stupid People! These guys are 100 X more boring than Maiden or Metallica -- now that's sayin' something!

What are other new ones? Which of those bands do you not like?

p.s. forgot Reckless Love off "The New List", a band a lot of the "Pure Metallists" are hatin' on because they think they're too candy as*ed or sumthin'.

Shinedown was bold on this album. It is nothing like any of their previous, highly successful, albums. They took many chances, use many styles and instrumentation, and it all comes off perfectly. Nothing boring here. Try the whole album before you dismiss it. Tons of influences throughout, and they don't care about fitting a strict musical style, they just write great songs.
