I'm Totally Seeing This 'Movie'

I'm gonna guess that this will end up on Blu Ray, so I'll catch it then. By the way, it was 42 years ago today that their debut LP was released.

Close, Ace. It was released on January 5th, 1973. I bought it just over a month afterward when one of my buddies got a copy for his birthday from his Uncle who lived in Boston.

I was sold about 5 seconds into the first track on side one, "Mama Kin". "Dream On" wasn't even on the radio in Maryland at the time. I was 12.

I wish they would release the 1994 Donington Monsters of Rock show.
They were awesome that night.

Wow. I turned a crusty 10 years old that year! Lol. It wasn't until 1974 that I was introduced to (what was to become my favorite band for the rest of the decade) by my older cousin."Same Old Song And Dance" reeled me in. Then I heard "Woman Of The a World",and the rest,as they say,was history. I was absolutely hooked. Still am,to this day. "No More No More" is probably my favorite song of all time. I literally wore that album (Toys) out. Had to buy a second copy. To me it was pure genius, without a throwaway track. The fact they still regularly do 4 of the tracks live to this day,out of their huge catalog, tends to back that fact up.

I will go to see this if it comes to my area,if for nothing else than to just to hear it through the kick ass sound system in a big theater....\m/

Gary, funny you should say you wore out your first copy of "Toys". I literally played "Rocks" to death.

What happened was I went through a phase a couple months after the album came out, where I played it for two weeks straight, over an over, 'til I just couldn't take it anymore.

I yanked the LP off the ol' Technics, opened the front door and frisbeed it right out the door. It caught the wind and floated all the way across the street and flew all the way down to the end of the cul-de-sac of the street running perpendicular to the one where my house was.

Another two weeks went by and I went out and bought it again and I still have it to this day!

Now, THAT'S the sign of s great album!

p.s. With ya on "Toys", too! I won't go as far as to say "No More No More" is my favorite, but it's easily in my Top 5 Fave Aerosmith Songs Ever and completely understand why you would rank it #1. BTW, I saw 'em once off "Get Your Wings" in '74, once off "Toys" in '75, once off "Rocks" in '76, once off "Night In The Ruts" in '79, once in '82 off "Rock In A Hard Place" with Jimmy Crespo who had replaced Joe Perry, and once in '07 off "Just Push Play"! And we know how Allyson feels about Aerosmith!
