SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival Announced

Might as well just post the official release on this one. The top level VIP is $3,000 a person which is nuts. Please don't spend that much money on this. A regular ticket will do just fine, I promise! Also, how long before Tracii Guns is back in LA Guns?

SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival is set for Saturday, September 17 at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Southern California. Eddie Trunk made the announcement with special guest Bret Michaels live on his SiriusXM show Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk on Sirius XM’s Hair Nation channel on Monday, April 18.

Rock fans from around the globe are invited to re-live the filth of the Sunset Strip for one night only at SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival. The current music lineup is as follows: Vince Neil, Bret Michaels, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kix, Slaughter, Lita Ford, Vixen, Britny Fox, BulletBoys, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns’ Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns, Loudness, Junkyard, Vain, Tuff, Bang Tango, Pretty Boy Floyd, Odin, Gabbie Rae, and Circus of Power. The festival will be hosted by Eddie Trunk.

Vince Neil  says, “I can’t wait to perform back in Southern California where it all started for me. This is a big kick ass event and I’m gonna pull out all the stops on this one. What a great lineup, in a great venue… see you in September. Be there!”

Eddie Trunk adds, “I'm truly honored to host the first ever Hair Nation show. As a lifelong fan, friend and supporter of so many of these bands on radio and TV it's great to see them have their own event to celebrate their decades of great music.”

SiriusXM will broadcast performances, as well as backstage interviews with artists, from SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival on SiriusXM’s Hair Nation channel, via satellite on channel 39 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com. The broadcast will air the weekend of September 24.

General Admission and VIP tickets for SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival go on sale Friday, April 22 at 10:00 AM PT via www.HairNationFest.com and start at just $15 (plus fees).

SiriusXM listeners will be able to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public via a SiriusXM Ticket Presale from Wednesday, April 20 at 10am PT to Thursday, April 21 at 10:00 PM PT.

A limited number of exclusive experiences and VIP opportunities are available for purchase, including access to one or more VIP Lounges at the festival, premier seating and VIP restrooms, with some of the packages including exclusive meet & greet and photo opportunities with select bands, front row tickets, and more.

Information and pricing on all packages and experiences, including NOBODY RIDES FOR FREE, YOUTH GONE WILD, MEET & GREET VIP, FRONT ROW ULTIMATE VIP, and BOOZE CRUISE TRAVEL PACKAGE + FRONT ROW ULTIMATE VIP, is available at www.HairNationFest.com.

SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival is produced by Live Nation and Synergy Global Entertainment (SGE) and will feature nonstop music on two stages, including a rotating main stage with back-to-back performances, VIP Meet and Greets, a vendor village, and more.

Hey I couldn't do it but I am sure there are enough people in So Cal with the extra $$ that will pony it up for one more party like it was 1989. Junkyard and Britny FoX is about all I care to see and Pretty Boy Floyd .......

Loudness, Tuff, Odin....would love to see those bands as well. Too bad I cannot attend. Malmsteen, the best parts of the real LA Guns. Much more than just Britny Fox and Junkyard to see here. Oh and Vain...they are a great band as well.

GNR - that looks like an amazing line-up and the prices are dirt cheap. Lucky you.

How come nobody is complaining about all the bands that are playing dont have all original members? Like ive been hearing the past few weeks. Youre lucky to find bands with all original members these days. It will never be the same again. Just enjoy the music and cherish the memories.

this looks pretty awesome! Are there any BBG readers in San Diego who are planning to go, and who would be willing to take along a crazy blind guy? I'll happily pay for gas.

Bob: I live in Pennsylvania and it's in September when school starts, so it is very unlikely (if not impossible) that I would attend...but, under different circumstances, I would be honored to have you as my riding companion. BUT, don't give up hope. I believe in the rockers on this site and trust me, one will come through for you.

I don't know if you're on Facebook, but there is an amazing group called M3 Rockers, headed by great Rockers, specifically Earl Capps and Amy Schreiber. Link onto this group, explain your situation and I personally guarantee that you will be hooked up.

Fletch, thanks so much for the tip about M3 Rockers. I'll check them out on FB. And, on another note, I have lots of fond memories of Pennsylvania. I grew up in Jersey, and went to tons of concerts in Philly and the Lehigh Valley back in the day.

Eddie Trunk and Brett Michaels = No Thanks. Went to the Toledo all day concert a few months ago - great show. Brett's crew start setting up with pictures of him on his drum backdrop. Looked at my buddy, laughed, and left - what a cheeseball.

I witnessed first hand account that bret sychek (?) set up his stage show and looked to my left and said...and I quote myself.,,"that's thee gayest thing that I ever saw; and I once saw a guy suck his own cock."

Thank you artie lange for that joke. I give credit where credit is due.

true story.

Geez, that's right... Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis huggin' it out. Probably inspired by Axl and Slash though they did get together for charity in Vegas for charity not too long ago. Those characters plus Junkyard, Britny Fox, Vain and TUFF are the reasons to go. Chump and Brett Michaels are the reasons not, too.

Still, the good far outweighs the bad so just go for the positive reasons, ignore Chump and hit the VIP bar during Michaels.

p.s. Bob, if I was out there, sure as h*ll, I would cruise you up there. Also, there's a chance I might go in the Monsterwood Cruise out of L.A. in October. Even though it's sold out, if I can pull it off and you would want to go, maybe there's a way we can still get on as they usually have last minute cancellations. Badlands -- FYI: I believe Junkyard is all original members sans Brian Gates.

Oh, yeah!!! And let's not forget Pretty Boy Floyd (or what's left of them, hahaha!!!)! Another good reason to go!
April 20, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Metalboy!, my good sir, if only I had the funds to swing Monsterwood, I totally be there! It sounds like it would be a great time. Anywho, I still have a few months to figure out how I can get to the Hair Nation festival. I'm sure there must be old school hard rock fans down here, but in the nearly 20 years I've lived here, I sure as hell haven't met them. Everybody seems to be into indie stuff down here.

The next few levels of tix are fairly standard: from 599 down to 149. Not bad. But the lineup is rather sparse. Not bad, mind you. But sparse. No big ticket acts to draw everyone in. Really. I dare you to name a tent pole act for this festival. And if you can find one, Neil will either run over it or pull its hair.

And still, I would go in a heartbeat. It is a raucous assemblage of partial bands playing parts of the soundtrack to my life. If I squint (or drink too much) I can see the good old days. And isn't that what we want? Someone sorta' sounds like Guns. Axl kinda' sounds like Storace (I mean, Bon-son). Downe still looks kinda' like Taime. Tate isn't but his band is (again, sorta'). So this works for me. Note how I mixed and mingled the festival with recent events. Go figure?

And there is a lot of good in all that fuzziness. So I hope it goes well and that they build upon it. It will get better the next year and then . . . wait for it . . . will become a Monster Energy or Live Nation or AXS sorta' thing. Not that having Liberty Media owning majority shares in a metal festival is problematic. Clearly, John Malone loves metal!!!!!!

I can hear the fans clamoring for this, even if Johnson can't. And I bet it might sell out. One horn in the air. But still, head down.

HIM, Junkyard and KIX are the closest thing to original or classic line-up. They either have one member replaced or gone. For me, those two bands are as good as any major act for which you pine, as they had periods of being the primary soundtrack of my life.

I was literally obsessed with these bands, practically having their albums glued into my cassette deck or CD player, as those first two Junkyard discs and all the KIX albums up to "Funny Money" are ALL killer, no filler.

Though Britny Fox is a different line-up, it is the mark II version of the band minus the original guitarist. I so want to see them, as their magnum opus, "Bite Down Hard" has some smokin' tracks plus the singer, Tommy Paris (aka, Don Jillson), is a legend in the highly collectible rare Indy CD market where an original copy of the Jillson album, "Deadly Girl", used to fetch hundreds of dollars until it's reissue. There's a reason why the band Jillson was named after him and it's abundantly clear why when you hear his voice.

Without going into further detail, again, here are the reasons to go: Junkyard, Britny Fox, KIX, Vain, TUFF, Pretty Boy Floyd and Tracii Guns/Phil Lewis. Just bring your noise cancelling BOSE headphones with you to listen to a Hair Nation during Chump's and Brett Michaels bullsh*tathons.

p.s. Bob... I hear ya about the funds. Best of luck getting to this show. It will certainly be worth it for the reasons I stated above. If I hit the Lottery before this and Monsterwood, we're both goin'. Hell, I would even fund some of these other BBG!'ers to go, except for maybe Badland who seems like an even bigger a*shole than I am, hahaha!!!

To your point on needing a major headliner, HIM, that headliner should have been POISON, the definitive Hair Metal band AND would have all original members. Brett Michaels: Tool extraordinaire!
April 21, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Junkyard !!!! One of my all time favorites hands down. I just wish Chris Gates was still in the band. The new songs are still good but you can tell the bluesy solos are lacking.
