Def Leppard Premiere 'Man Enough' Video

From my inbox:

Def Leppard has debuted a video for their new single "Man Enough" exclusively via Live Nation TV. The single just cracked the top 10 on the Classic Rock charts and is the third track off their latest self-titled studio album.

Def Leppard was recorded in early 2015 at front man Joe Elliott's studio in Dublin, Ireland. The self-titled album release marked their first new collection of material in seven years and 11th official studio release. The album debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard's Top 200 chart in the U.S. and went Top 10 in 25 countries, including a #1 in Japan. The band's previous two singles off of their new album, "Let's Go" and "Dangerous," also went to #1 on the Classic Radio charts.

They wear their influences on their well-groomed sleeves on this one. Unfortunately, one of those influences is who they once were.

Not that I expect the feisty rage of their youth. I don't. But this just a bathroom/beer break on a package tour sponsored by VH-1 Classic.

Hey, it ain't "Photograph" and Joe Elliot has to have his vocals really punched in now (As the result of years of self admitted excessive drinking, etc.), but this album, and the single, "Dangerous", is the closest to a return to form for Def Leppard in decades.

Wouldn't even quibble with that assessment, Metalboy! But "closest" is a relative term, yes?

Now I am gonna' go listen to "Another One Bites the Dust." Not sure why, but listening to that song put me in the mood for a bit of Queen. I kid.

Him, I listened to the song before I read the comments. I was going to comment that I liked it better the first time when Queen did it. Lol. Old jaded minds think alike I suppose...lmao

I tried to be a bit vague in my initial post because, well, it _is_ Def Lep.

But when Metalboy! suggests this is as close as they have come to their peak (and who am I to argue?), I couldn't keep it in anymore. It is just so obvious. Maybe the estate of Randy California will sue them. Wait. Different thread.

And you are right: old and jaded. But still rocking.

Haha, HIM... Shortstopping on my way to a prologue of Allyson's "Stairway to Heaven" lawsuit post, I cannot believe people think the intros to the songs in question are even remotely similar beyond the fact that the intros to both are played on a single acoustic guitar.

The "descending staircases" of the these songs sound COMPLETELY different, Spirit's sending us down a manhole of meandering mediocrity while the other (Zep's) somehow to the sublimeness of musical heaven!
