I wanna give a shout-out to KIX. I was at the M3 festival last week-end. (disclosure first): I "like" Kix, I don't love 'em. And, I've grown tired of them co-opting the M3 festival year after year with their 'Rockstar" behavior and their 'I'm better than everyone else" attitude- often insisting on Headlining and having a longer set-time than more notable bands.

People often complain about Sebastian Bach and his outbursts, but I've personally been on the receiving end (point blank) of Mr. Whiteman's over-inflated ego. (Second Disclosure: I've already discussed the incident on a FB music site a few years ago. Steve Whiteman saw my post, messaged back and apologized for his behavior...THAT, my friends, is a Rockstar)

But anyway, KIX still sound great, have 'most' of their original members and put in a 'Killer' show. (I just plagiarized "Killer'). After taking the stage and playing a few hits, Singer Steve Whiteman announced that it was the anniversary of BMF and as a special treat for M3, they with play it; in it's entirety- truly a rare and special treat for any die-hard fan, while being a monumental bonus for the M3 audience.

We have often discussed/debated on here as to which bands/albums should be performed in it's entirety for their fans. KIX did just that. Again, kudos to them. You would think that the audience would be pleased- not only did they perform BMF in it's entirety, but they also played a bunch of other greatest hits. Sadly, posters on Facebook and other media outlets were relentlessly harsh immediately following their performance and still are days after (Should've picked a different album, Should've played more "hits", yada, yada, yada.)

Sure, I've done my fair share of complaining, but when you get a gift, don't kick that horse in the mouth...or some variation thereof.

Great Job, KIX. Well played!!!

Coming from someone that saw them back in the day, they're the real deal! And BMF is a glam classic, I don't gaff what anyone says. I mayve not been the biggest fan of their newest release, but they're still a legit band that sounds the same as they always have. 🤘🏼

I was at M3 as well. I was happy that they played the album in it's entirety. There were 3 or 4 songs that I have never heard them play live before so that is always a treat. And they always put on a show! It was awesome!

WOW!, Boyz! Sorry I missed that!

Indeed, “Blow My Fuse” IS really one of THE Greatest Glam Metal Albums of All Time even if Whiteman and Chalfant never went for the whole eyeliner thing.

They certainly all had the hair except for Donnie Purnell who’s locks more resembled those of a scraggly mutt in the rain from the sweat he drenched himself in with all the running and quite literally rolling and cavorting around the stage!

He is a genius and showed it on this album, having written ALL the songs himself save for a couple of collaborations with another genius, John Palumbo of CRACK THE SKY. (p.s. If you haven’t heard their eponymous first album, I couldn’t recommend more strongly doing so.)

Honestly, I was thinking I’m pretty much done with KIX, having seen them over 30 times over the years but if they are going to continue playing “Blow My Fuse” in it’s entirety live, I’ll gladly see them again!

And I will certainly be picking up the new reissue, as it will be exciting to hear the remastered remixes and studio outtakes.

Yup, I was there as well at M3, and KIX was very impressive. I didn't know they were going to play the entire Blow My Fuse album front-to-back, but it was awesome. I find Steve to be a very charismatic and funny frontman, but yes, he does insult at times, as he did last weekend when some guy in the audience tried to sing, but didn't know the lyrics to a song. Oh, I'd also like to count the grams of fat on the combined KIX lineup because there isn't much ... they look amazing for their ages.

Regarding Bach, he's been known for a-hole behavior. I just want to give a shoutout here. I had never seem him live until M3 this time, and man, he was on top of his game. Engaging, funny, owned the stage, it was great to see. The pipes were pretty decent too. Only thing I didn't like was the single guitar attack. No doubt the guitarist was a very good player and played the songs and solos mostly with perfection and true to the original ... all that said, in my opinion Skid Row songs need the 2 guitars just because it does.

Shout out to Fletch! Thanks for your kind words. I just wanted to point out a few things about perception. First of all, we never co-opt the headlining slot at M3 Festival. They put us where THEY want us. This year, Tom Keifer insisted on headlining, as did WASP a few years back. Whatever their reasons for wanting the top slot are irrelevant to us. We simply do as we are asked by the promoters. Conversely, I think two years ago, Night Ranger was offered the top slot on Friday and they graciously said no thanks, this is KIX' home town, we will gladly play in front of them. Clearly we should always open for Night Ranger right? Much bigger band with a much wider audience. Once again we had no preference. When the promoters came and asked us if we cared if any artists plays last, we answered no of course we don't care, you run the festival, do whatever you want, we will be good citizens and do whatever you ask and be darn grateful to be there. That is always our universal policy with time slots. We will play first, we will play last, its simply a non-issue for us. We don't care in the least. We will perform with the same level of professionalism no matter what slot we draw. One year we played M3 at 5:00 before Extreme. No problem. We had a good show. We never care what spot we play. Its simply not important to us. It is important to some artists, but not KIX. We know our fans will show up at whatever time we play and that's all we really care about. Thanks for reading, I hope I have tempered any misconceptions that are there regarding this subject.

and one last thing...I was on the phone with my wife when I logged back on to this site. I said into the phone, "Holy shit, I just got messaged from a 'Rockstar'. She quipped, "Is it a restraining order?"

The only time I got to see KIX was at the second Rocklahoma (2008) , and they were on fire ! Even a rainstorm could not temper their energy , as it just made it into an awesome wet t-shirt party.

I got to see so many great bands for my first time , that I never got to see back in the day , and KIX was one of the many highlights of that 5 day festival . Just thinking of that week and the VIP camping and Concert experience ...still puts a huge smile on my face 10 YEARS LATER !

@CanadianMetal - Amen to that. That was an amazing festival. Rocklahoma 2008 was also my first time seeing Kix, and I have probably seen them 20 times since then. They are my favorite band to see live. If I remember correctly Warrant played right after Kix that night in 2008. While the Warrant show was kind of a trainwreck, it was the last time I ever saw the original members play together, so still a good memory.

Awesome memories people! Posts like this are one of the reasons I come here day after day. I only wish more of you posted more often.

Please, share your thoughts. I really appreciate the fact that so many people lurk on this site. Add to it. Mix it up. Heck, Fletch might even ramble on about something relating to something that relates to something he thinks. And I promise to be judicious in my use of exclamation points. I leave that to Metalboy!

Grew up and spent my formative hard rock and metal years around Harrisburg,PA during the mid-80s. Being from Maryland, KIX would often venture into the central PA area. Saw them several times at Metron before they hit the big time.
Current day, stumbled across their website a few weeks back and saw they were performing in a new club in Harrisburg on June 16th. My wife and I, residents of NE Philadelphia, made plans to see the show. While driving to the venue I pointed out to my wife the location of the old Metron club which now seems to be a large furniture store. Memories gone.
They came on stage at 11:15 pm. Came out loud and strong as I remember. Several songs in Steve began talking about the 30th anniversary of BMF, KIX past visits to the Metron and history of the band. Great musicians, great show and can’t drink like I could 30 years ago. Always a loyal KIX fan.
