Do you need this? No. Do you want it? Maybe. Nikki Sixx is selling items featuring his mugshot including T-shirts and mugs. This is part of his Sixx on Sixx drop collection. I'm personally gonna hard pass on this one. Mugshots are trashy and I don't need to be see around town wearing one. Of course, Nikki realizes this isn't classy in the Tweet below. I think that makes it more rock n' roll to him. I will file this one under #YouDoYou

You are a smart fellow, GNR. I did some digging. It turns up online . . . on Pintrest. On Nikki's site. You light the candle, and your followers provide the flame!!!

Where did it come from? Based on the picture, it looks like it is from either 1997 (in Phoenix, most likely) or 1999 (in Vegas, not likely given the online posts). Who cares? This is his sort of branding. He excels at it.

Thing is, this appeals to such a small portion of the metal community that methinks that this--and his books, and his music, and his musicals--are just a way to stay, wait for it, relevant. And trying to stay relevant, all the while waiting for your big tour to finally happen, smacks (pun intended) of desperation. When you seem edgy only to those who happen to think that you are, you aren't really. And when you have to churn up new ways to seem like that, well, again, you really aren't.

Sixx has a solid legacy . . . behind him. Why spoil it? Perhaps he should sign a "cessation of promotional gimmicks" contract that he can't violate. Oh wait. That dude's a genius!!!
