A New Lynch Mob Collection Is Coming

On June 19, Deadline Music/Cleopatra Records will release a special 3-disc audio/video deluxe collection of Lynch Mob’s Revolution.

The set features the full-length studio album Revolution with killer, supercharged renditions of classic Dokken/Lynch Mob tracks such as “Tooth And Nail,” “Breaking The Chains,” “Wicked Sensation,” and more.  It also includes professionally filmed live performances recorded during the 2005 Revolution Tour, mixed in 5.1 surround sound.

George “Mr. Scary” Lynch cemented his legendary role in the heavy music community in the early 1980s when he joined forces with Don Dokken.  For almost a decade with Dokken, Lynch was able to develop a groundbreaking brand of guitar virtuoso that would also earn a Grammy nomination.  In the early 1990s, Lynch launched his own project, Lynch Mob, which released several well-received records in between Lynch’s eclectic other solo works.

But in 2003, the Mob reassembled to rework Dokken and Lynch Mob material.  The result was a decidedly darker, heavier, and very experimental reinvention that fans of all iterations of George Lynch appreciated.  They took it on the road for a series of fierce concerts that left audiences jaw-dropped at the band’s creative live presentation.

Along with the legendary George Lynch on guitar, this iteration of Lynch Mob features the return of Robert Mason on vocals after nearly a decade absence, original bassist Anthony Esposito, and Michael Frowein on drums.

Revolution will be available at record stores and online, MSRP $16.98.

Slash, 'You're A Lie' -- Video Released

SLASH!

Have you seen the new Slash video for "You're a Lie" yet? I'm impressed because 1) I really like the song and 2) the video chick is actually age appropriate for the men in the clip. The single is off the album Apocalyptic Love which hits stores May 22! I can't wait to see Slash this weekend at Rock on the Range.

Also, check out the album before you buy - good stuff!

A Different Version of Vixen Perform As VXN

Original Vixen members Janet Gardner, Roxy Petrucci and Share Ross have reunited as VXN. They are joined by guitarist Gina Stile.

Guitarist Jan Kuehnemund owns the name Vixen and has her own touring version of the band. Of course, the question begs: does the world need two versions of Vixen? I mean, really? Not that I don't dig the sounds off the debut album, because I do... but still. It's not like we're talking about a massive catalog here, right?

I saw Vixen (Jan's version) at Rocklahoma a few years back. It was just okay.

VXN will reunite at a select number of festivals and showcase dates in 2013.

Happy Mother's Day!

Stryper and the Appice Brothers did a special tribute to Ronnie James Dio at the M3 Rock Festival yesterday. This happened during the All Star Jam. The song is, of course, "Heaven and Hell."

M3 Groupie Exchange Program

I'm totally loving the HDNet stream of the M3 Rock Festival. I worked on my house all day yesterday (painting everything in sight it felt like), went out to dinner and came home to relax with my concert. I watched Kix live first and then went back through my DVR in reverse. Kix were awesome as always, even if I did have to watch some of the set on my computer because HDNet dumped out of them for awhile. Since HDNet offered the Internet stream, I thought I better mention it here. Previously, I thought you could only watch the show by subscribing to the premium channel (which I did specifically to watch M3). So, if you don't have HDNet, be sure to check online to see if the concert is streaming online. I personally would have marketed the live broadcast differently. I think there is a lot of confusion over who can and cannot watch.

Oh and while we're talking about M3... I cam across this video below. It's a commercial promoting the fest. It's so bad it's humorous. The "M3 Groupie Exchange Program."
