Geoff Tate Announces New Queensryche Lineup

Geoff Tate recently announced the members of the "new" Queensryche. So who did Tate choose to join him on stage? Rudy Sarzo, Bobby Blotzer, Glen Drover, Kelly Gray and Randy Gane.

"Together we shall embark on a new musical journey that will be a greater extension of where Queensrÿche has ever been," Geoff Tate said of the lineup.

I have to admit that Tate put himself together a little supergroup and diehard 'Ryche fans will certainly take a second look at this lineup because of Kelly Gray.

Stay tuned for tour dates. So what do you think? Will you support this version of the band, or the other version featuring the former members of Queensryche and new singer Todd La Torre?

Bang Tango Release Theatrical Trailer

Bang Tango will release a documentary about the band's history later this year. The film is being produced by Drew Fortier and is simply titled The Bang Tango Movie. Like you would expect, the documentary will feature interviews with current and original Bang Tango members. There will be concert and some "back-in-the-day" footage as well.

The band's most recent album is Pistol Whipped In The Bible Belt. The making of that album is a large part of the documentary. I'm looking forward to this. Here's the trailer:

Dokken, 'Empire' -- New Single Teaser

Dokken will release their 11th album, Broken Bones, via Frontiers on September 25th. The first single from the album is "Empire." Interestingly, Don Dokken produced the album.

The album will be released in two configurations: standard CD and limited edition CD in digipak with a bonus DVD, which features a comprehensive "Making Of The Album" documentary. Here's a sample of "Empire." So far, I think I like the track. It's pretty clear that Don smoothed out his voice on the track, but that's to be expected these days I guess. What do you think?

2012 Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Announced

Los Angeles --- Monster Energy and Idol Roc Entertainment have announced the line-up for the 2012 Monster Energy Outbreak Tour.  Headliner Asking Alexandria will be joined by support acts As I Lay Dying, Suicide Silence, Memphis May Fire and Attila.  The line-up secured prompted tour producer Steve Glazer (Idol Roc Entertainment) to share, "Without question this is the strongest lineup we've assembled for Outbreak to date. Each year we promise to grow our brand and it all starts with delivering the fans an undeniable lineup of artists on the rise paired with an affordable ticket price."

Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce stated, "America, we are back, we are excited, we are ready and we are fucking headlining! This is our biggest headlining tour ever and we are bringing with us, the biggest, heaviest and best bands that rock has to offer. This Monster Energy Outbreak Tour is going to be fucking insane, more so especially due to the fact that this is not only going to be our last tour of the year and our last tour in America for quite awhile, but also because this is going to be the last tour on the Reckless and Relentless album cycle. We will be playing songs from Stand Up and Scream, Reckless and Relentless and a handful of brand new songs from our upcoming album.  You, North America, have been chosen to hear our new songs before anyone else in the world. Let's make this a tour to fucking remember. Lets end 2012 bigger, better and harder than anywhere else on this earth. We can't wait to see you all. If 2012 really is the end of the world, then all I can say is....we are going out with a bang! We will see you all soon.”

Headliner Asking Alexandria has arrived.  Following a 2011 that saw the band open for the legendary Guns N' Roses, perform in numerous arenas with Avenged Sevenfold, and enjoy sold-out after sold-out headlining show across the U.S., success exponentially exploded in 2012.  The band staged a six week sold-out European headlining tour, which was followed by a North American run with Trivium as direct support this past Spring that drew big numbers.  The band will enter the studio in October prior to the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour to place the finishing touches on their much anticipated third full-length effort.  The disc is set for an early 2013 release. The current album Reckless and Relentless, debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 charts scanning an impressive 31,449 units, marking the biggest first week sales for any artist in the history of Sumerian Records.

The full itinerary will be announced September 7.

Dj Ashba and Marq Torien Jam With The Sin City Sinners

Dj Ashba lives in Las Vegas, so I'm surprised we don't see more clips of him jumping on stage, jamming with Glam bands. Of course, The Sin City Sinners are a Las Vegas based cover bands of sorts. The band always invites guests stars and performs famous songs. Sin City Sinners features Brent Muscat of Faster Pussycat fame. When Dj jammed with the band, Marq Torien of the Bulletboys got on stage, too! The clip below was shot just last weekend. Enjoy!

Remember White Wolf?

Fans of Saxon or Leatherwolf might like White Wolf. The obscure Canadian band came out in the early 80s and released a couple of albums. In 2007, the band reunited and released Victim of the Spotlight via Escape music. I'm not sure why White Wolf never really caught on in the U.S. but for whatever reason, they didn't. In fact, I don't think their debut album was even ever released here. Of course, you can buy the band's catalog now if you're willing to pay high import prices. Check them out: you might like it:
