Shiprocked ends today, docking me back to Fort. Lauderdale, Florida. Usually I'm sad when vacation ends, but I've got a lot to look forward to this time, so it's all good. In the coming days I'll have tons of show reviews, photos, funny stories and more to share. In the meantime, I guess I need to actually get myself home...and maybe take a nap. I bet I have 134,565 unread emails, voicemails and whatever else to tend to as well. While I catch up on my Metal news, I urge you to go read some of my recent posts over at Noiscreep. There's some good stuff there if I do say so myself!
Loud n' Nasty have been around for awhile now. The Swedish Glam band keeps churning out tunes and playing live, hoping to get a loyal following.
Right now, Loud n' Nasty have three albums available via Perris Records. Like every other serious band on the planet, Loud n' Nasty has a ton of clips on YouTube. While I continue to float and frolick along the Atlantic Ocean, here's some of my fave Loud n' Nasty tunes.
"Hungry"
"Teaser Teaser"
Day four at sea, my dearest landlubbers. The members of RATT are wandering the same cruise ship as your fearless Glam mistress. I wonder who will get more Shiprocked, me or Stephen Pearcy? RATT's been in the studio, working on a new disc for RoadRunner Records. It's supposed to be called Infestation (get it?!) and set to be released in March 2010. While I doubt I'll hear much new RATT during the band's concert, I fully intend to hear and enjoy all the classic hits. With that, here's my take on the top 5 RATT videos of all time.
Number 4 - "Givin' Yourself Away." More special commentary - Why don't people paint giant banners made of bed sheets for concerts anymore? Also, my second favorite RATT song. Alas.
Number 3 - "Slip of the Lip"
Number 2 - "Way Cool, Jr." Special commentary: the band members had hair that was, I must admit, off the chain!
Number 1 - "Wanted Man." Horrible acting and a crappy plot clearly make this one of the best metal videos of the 80s. Period.
Notice I left off "Round and Round." Bugger all, I could go without ever hearing that song again. It was RATT's breakthrough single, but I think they have much better songs and it's not fair to recognize them for only that one tune. Agree?
Every Tuesday, tons of new albums are thrust at consumers. Sometimes the albums are really anticipated, others largely ignored. I was just looking through the new release list and these stuck out at me:
Them Crooked Vultures - (self-titled)
The Doors - Live in New York
Rush - Working Men (Live)
Cinderella - Live in Concert
Rainbow - Anthology
And a couple cool DVDs, too:
Billy Idol - In Super Overdrive Live
The Rolling Stones - In the 1960s
Of this list, I'm most interested in Cinderella and Them Crooked Vultures. The Cinderella CD actually also includes a DVD of the concert, which is kind of nice. I'm not sure why no one has bothered to update Cinderella's official website with news of this "new" album, but whatever. About a month ago, the interwebs was buzzing that this "new" Cinderella release would mean a possible tour. From what I've heard, it is possible the band may be back doing something this summer. Beyond that, I'll let you all speculate...but it's possible I'll have some special news about this very soon. Again, I do repeat the word *possible.*
All that said, which CDs will you be getting this week? Anything I left off the list?

Here's "Undertaker"
