Dangerous Toys Recall

As the countdown to Rocklahoma 2008 continues, several glam Metal fans continue to speculate about next year's lineup.

One of the bands being tossed around as a possible performer is Texas based Dangerous Toys. The band released a debut album in 1987, plus three more albums after their debut before disbanding. Not so long ago the band reunited announcing plans for a new album.

Here's the video for "Scared" from the self-titled debut album.

So, what are your thoughts on this "Teas'n Pleas'n" band?

Dangerous Toys are a good band. That would be really cool if they were at Rocklahoma! And, there even thinking about a new album?! That's great!

I thought their debut was in 1989 (the self-titled album). Regardless, I have it, but it doesn't get much play, because it's pretty dull. They at least try to pack some punch, but the songwriting is pretty flat as I recall.

their debut album was launched in 1989, with the classics scared and teand pleasnt.

I am actually thinking about checking out Jason McMaster's current band, Broken Teeth Friday night.
Shadows Fall did a cover of "Teasn' Pleasn'" on their 2005 release of B-Sides and covers, "Fallot from the War." They even got Jason McMaster to sing on it! Check it out.

I like them, they are an example of a band where I can see why they didn't hit big at the time, but they are good enough to satisfy my desire for new ( to me at least ) glam.

My big one is that I'd love Kix to be there, those guys were great.

Hey Christian, I never really liked Kix (although I have 2 or 3 of their albums), but my wife saw them like 8 or 9 times when she was in high school (84-88). She loved them.

Hi Bob. I'm not surprised that you don't like them, it's pretty basic 3 chord rock, but I do have a soft spot for that sort of thing. I do come from the country that spawned The Angels ( seeing them live next week ), Rose Tattoo ( seeing them live next month ), Airbourne ( seeing them with the tatts ) and AC/DC (haven't seen them since 1991)

Here's a surprise for you. I can't stand AC/DC (no surprise), but I don't mind Rose Tattoo. They're real similar, but for some reason I don't mind Rose Tattoo. I didn't know Angry Anderson and company were still at it.

Perhaps the difference is that the Tatts use a lot of slide guitar ? Yeah, I saw them open for Axl and co, I was right up front, and they were pretty bloody good. When I saw Heaven and Hell, a woman who was waiting from 2pm, as was I, said she knows Angry as she's friends with an ex band member, she said Angry has ego problems, but, and ex band member WOULD think that. Anyhow, that put him on a good stage, with Axl and Sebastian Bach. Either way, I can't wait to see them again, and I'll buy the new CD.

I think they get most of their business in European festivals nowadays, Europe is the new Japan for hard rock bands.

Apparently, Angry is an activist for kids. I read that on Wikipedia or something.

Dangerous Toys' debut album is still one of the greatest debuts of all time.
