Don Dokken, George Lynch Reunion Confirmed For M3 Rock Fest

Last night, Merriweather Post Pavilion shared some news via Facebook: Don Dokken and George Lynch will reunite at M3 Rock Fest. Lynch, Dokken and Mick Brown will play a special set. Also just added to the lineup are XYZ and Kip Winger.

M3 is set for May 3,4,5 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Whitesnake will headline. Single day tickets go on sale Friday.

For Fletch in the comments section - yes, George Lynch has a broken bone and here is the X-Ray

HUGE! Amazing after all these years these two could finally get it together to play a main event and not a pawn shop or Japanese mini-tour.

Even with Don Dokken’s voice completely shot, where else are you going to hear Lynch perform so many great Dokken songs live.

I was gonna blow off this festival again this year but now it’s definitely a fly in for me, if it times out with my work schedule.

p.s. Shame Pilson couldn’t escape Mick Jones’ clutches from Foreigner bass duties for one weekend. I mean, what a difference it would make to have him on backing vocals as he was so key to their original sound in that regard and the fact that Don Dokken needs all the help he can get. Besides Mick, who the h*ll else really cares if he’s in Foreigner or not. That’s not his original band. Dokken is.

Rumor mill alert:. Late last night, there were posts that George Lynch broke his elbow and obviously out. I tried to be like snopes.com and debunk this but I was tired and gave up. I'll look today. Anyone else see the rumor and know if it's true or liar, liar pants on fire (45).

He posted a picture on his Instagram account, but I don't think it is a fracture. It looks like it is a condition called calcific tendonitis. They will usually treat conservatively with PT or Cortisone. Hopefully he will be back soon!

WOW! Just noticed Lynch’s X-Ray (hey, maybe that could be the name of another one of his side projects)!

That looks pretty nasty but M3 is nearly 7 weeks away so maybe he’ll be fully recovered. H*ll, they could shoot him up if he isn’t fully recovered and he could pull it off. Only thing is, this ain’t exactly like playin’ Staples Arena so maybe he won’t chance it.

Where the h*ll’s Oper8n when we need him? He would probably be able to give us a prognosis if he saw the X-Ray.

" acoustic kip winger is actually a pretty cool show"

says noone ever, in the history of time.

I think everyone needs to remember: acoustic Dokken makes more sense these days, as it is more in keeping with acoustic Don singing. They could call it "Dokken: In A Much Lower Lock & Key." And Levin could oversee any legal contracts necessary to make that happen, when he isn't doing a damn good job of keeping Lynch's seat warm!

But those comments did give me a chuckle. And I won't knock Winger. I am a late-to-the-game fan. Learning to love music that I held my snot-nose up to back in the day. So that is at least two people who made some version of the same comment. It was bound to happen, bkallday.
