Def Leppard Inducted Into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Fourteen years after becoming eligible, Def Leppard are finally members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The band was inducted last night in a big ceremony in New York City. Queen's Brian May introduced and inducted the band. Joe Elliott gave a great speech and did mention Pete Willis and, of course, Steve Clark. You can see the entire induction ceremony on HBO April 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
Watching the live Leps clip below makes me want to do their Las Vegas residency again. Alas, I'm going to Vegas in two weeks for Aerosmith and that's enough Sin City in 2019 for me I'm afraid.

The induction speeches were eloquently first class, as it was great to hear Elliott, speaking on behalf of the band, giving big nods to the contributions of Steve Clark particularly as well as Pete Willis. He also acknowledged Rick Allen for his incredible perseverance against all odds to overcome his injuries when he crashed his ‘Vette years ago.
There was not a dry eye in the house. The musical performances that followed were just phenomenal, particularly “Photograph”, their best song and THE Greatest Glam Metal Song of All Time (with RATT’s “Round and Round” and Mötley Crüe’s “Livewire” coming in a close 2nd and distant 3rd position, respectively).
Ya gotta check it out for Elliot’s singing (I haven’t heard him this good in years) and especially Collen’s extended solo outro on “Photograph”. Simply astounding stuff!
p.s. With The Hall FINALLY giving Glam Metal it’s due, it’s only a matter of time until Mötley Crüe will also be inducted, even if it means Jan Wenner has to hold his nose or die, whichever comes first! And it better be sooner rather than later because of Mick Mars’ condition. Considering The Hall’s often ill-timed nominations I won’t hold my breath, but still hold out hope they will come through in time for him to still be able to perform.
p.s. Drink this: 🌊🌊🌊
Motley should be next in the hall. Priest should get another shot. It would be sad if Maiden get in before Priest.
As I mentioned, check out the clip of them performing “Photograph” during the ceremony, if you haven’t already. He hasn’t sounded this good in decades and the band is firing on all pistons with Phil Collen blazing the solo replete with a Judas Priest-like outro!
And you couldn’t be more right, Priest and/or Crüe should get in ASAP!
