Expect More Of The Same...
Rock USA, organizers of Hypervibe fest, have filed for bankruptcy. I am surprised we have not heard more of this to be honest, but I suspect more such filings are coming. Maybe not just for festivals, but for rock clubs and the like. It simply is not safe to be crammed into a big crowd right now, so having shows does not make much sense.
I tip my hat to the musicians that have figured out how to make virtual concerts work. Good for them and support such events if you can. I am actually hopeful that when things get back to some level of "normal" a virtual option will remain a thing. Like, I would love to watch a fest in Europe from the comfort of my couch. I think that would be a great revenue stream. We will see I guess.
