'Well Oiled Machine'

Steve Riley and his version of L.A. Guns have a new song out. It is called "Well Oiled Machine" and is from the upcoming album Renegades.

The song is fine. I will be honest: it did not "grab" me. I cannot help it, I prefer the Phil Lewis/Tracii Guns version of L.A. Guns. Of course, I wish Steve well and I know many here will be excited to buy Renegades when it is released.

Purchase and Stream 'Well Oiled Machine' and Support BBG!

Awful production, awful song, awful idea. This makes the other version of LA Guns new stuff seem like groundbreaking, fabulous hard rock, and trust me when i say that is extremely hard to do. Ugh, i was hoping for much better.

Had promise at the start but in the end sounded very generic.
Tracii and Phil are putting out much better material.

At least the graphics (courtesy of bass player, Kelly Nickels, who designed a lot of the original band’s album covers and T-shirts, etc.) are better than Phil’s and Tracii’s which are utterly cheesy.

This is complete garbage from start to finish

I just don't get the angle of this band. I believe Steve would of been better off trying a new "identity" vs. LA Guns. That way this doesn't keep gettting compared to what Tracii and Phil are doing. Because, this up there will never hold a candle to what they do.

I'm sure Steve has another band name in mind, don't all musicians always have we should of named our band "this" ?

Phil and Tracii are like Dio and Iommi or Oni Logan and George Lynch. When they work with other people the material is fine, but when the team up it's on another level. These singles aren't close to the last 2 records that Phil and Traci have put out. I even saw them live once on both records, they were excellent. This track is a level below. I'm never mad about new material, it's just not on the quality of "The Devil You Know".

This is actually not as cheesy as the first song they put out, but still not anything remarkable.

And still does not sound like L.A. Guns.

Tracii and Phil (L.A. Guns) still putting out excellent music in 2020.

Yeah, gotta agree ... Tracii and his employee, Phil, are much better than Riley and Nichols, as much as I wanna like them ... Excellent graphics, though, Kelly.

I really wanted to like this, I swear. The opening riff, while generic, is catchy and grooving, but Frohlich's vocals (while certainly technically proficient) just seem to lack any spark, especially being so high in the mix. And then the chorus comes along and completely sinks the song...droning and boring. Ugh. Hopefully there is better material elsewhere on the album...I am certainly looking forward to finding out and do wish these guys success.

Did anyone watch the JUNKYARD Monster’s of Rock Cruise free live stream?

It was absolutely incredible and gave me perspective how vastly superior that band is compared to BOTH versions of L.A. Guns.

Tracii should quit and join them!

I thought the song was "Well, Oy!, my chin." I was thinking straight-edge delivered in a mellow mood.

Neither band has exactly set my pantaloons afire. Both deserve to exist. The market, once there is a market, will decide.

My bet? They will decide for both of them . . . in small venues and at the bottom of festival lists.

And I would go to see both bands (and might have to see both bands at festivals with bands I want to see more . . . once there is a market, mind you.
