Sunday's Best: Week 45, 2022

A beautiful and unseasonably warm week in Ohio... and the time "fell back" overnight meaning it will be dark way too early. In music news, Judas Priest are officially in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after being inducted last night. That's our Sunday's Best for this week.

It took what seemed like forever, but Judas Priest finally got their deserved place in the Rock Hall. Oh and K.K. Downing did perform with the band!

Here's the induction performance!

Great performance by the Mighty Priest! Would be cool to have the band and KK bury the hatchet and have him rejoin the band. Every fan wants that. KK and his mirror image looked great playing side by side and trading licks. I am surprised that Rob didn't ride out on his motorcycle to the beginning riffs of Hell Bent for Leather but there was only so much time. It was great to see Glenn out there as he has been on tour playing the encores. Anytime you get to see him on stage is precious at this point with his frailty. Life it too short boys, make it happen!

Good for them. I like to believe that Tom Morello had a large part in getting them “in” without being voted in. Kinda weak. But so are all these things. With Glenn’s Parkinson’s not going anywhere the clock is ticking (on all). Rob Halford. Your out. Your accepted. Now get KK back so you can ride off into history as Judas Priest.

I could say more (a lot more). But I will say this: Faulkner showed class on and off the stage. And that comment, if you read into it, says volumes.

Okay, I will say a bit more.

Do I think it matters to a person like Jayne Andrews? No. And notice that I am not slagging others. As I have said previously, KK may be at fault . . . for some of this. But he isn't the only problem (nor the reason they sell now as they do compared to bands like Maiden). The events surrounding this stupid event, again, made me respect Faulkner more . . . and realize he is an Arnel Pineda with strings, not one who sings. Tough spot. Great legacy. If only those who created it could act like adults.
