Gene Simmons Shills For TABTouch

TABTouch is online betting for Australian sports and racing. Gene Simmons of KISS will make a dollar wherever and whenever he can, which I get and respect for the most part. Gene is a businessman first and musician second. To promote TABTouch, Gene is in a few commercials for the brand. They are kind of funny. The campaign is called "You've Got The Touch." Simmons has a lot of good and bad traits, granted.

But anyone watching these ads (which are, kinda. funny) has to know that he was paid to be in the ads. So I don't really think of him as a shill in this case, as it is obvious that he profits from that which he promotes. Dr. Oz, at least a few years ago? A shill. The Doctors, still kinda? Shills.

Thing is, Simmons never hides the fact that he is interested in making money. He celebrates it. So I appreciate the honesty. A shill, on the other hand and in both older and newer senses of the term, 'hides' his stake in the product/game/whatever he is endorsing. Moreover, it is harder and harder for other influencers to hide what they are doing. In this case, the public is getting wiser.

I don't see any deception in these ads. I might question spending ad-dollars on them. But Simmons is fair dinkum hawking these wares. So place your bets!
