2025 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced

Bad Company, Thom Bell, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa, Soundgarden, Lenny Waronker, The White Stripes, and Warren Zevon all made it in this year.
The fact that Billy Idol, Joy Division and Phish didn't make it is criminal, but we must have something to complain about, right? Phish is the most egregious since they won the fan vote, but whatever. At least Bad Company is finally in!

Bas Company is the headliner and should be treated a such
Pure COMEDY!
Look, I like The White Stripes.
And I saw Soundgarden 6th row twice, but NOT by choice … It was when they opened for all 3 nights of G’n’R’s 3-night stand at Madison Square Garden back in December of 1991 of which I saw ‘em, the first night and the last night.
I really did wanna like ‘em but, well, you know, they really should have called themselves “NOISEGARDEN”!

We betray our biases bashing who gets in and who doesn't, and that is good for a pull on the endorphin pipe (and a great read on who thinks what about who when it comes to this or that). Then again, pull that pipe too many times and you might go blind.
As per usual, my one and only annual comment on the RaRHoF. I am surprised some of you keep taking the bait. Then again, I am always sure some of you will.
Filthy (lucre) stuff, everyone.
That said, the ceremonies themselves do have their moments, i.e. Dolly Parton dueting with Rob Halford on “Jolene”, Cheap Trick reuniting with original drummer, Bun E. Carlos (despite all the lawsuits), Madonna having Iggy Pop sing “Like A Virgin” in her place, Def Leppard bringing Ian Hunter on stage to perform “All The Young Dudes” with them, or Prince stealing the show on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” during a tribute to inductee George Harrison.
And therein lies the frustration with the organization … They constantly botch reunion opportunities by randomly refusing to let original departed band members or later band members join the original line-ups on stage such as the cases with KISS and AC/DC …
The RARHOF are always missing the boat when it comes to nominating artists in a timely fashion … Why take so long to induct a band where they wind up either refusing to perform together like Van Halen or Gn’R … Both the organization and the inductees should do it for their fans AND their legacies.
Suggestion: Why not have bands perform on subsequent telecasts if they bury the hatchet and reunite again? … In the case of Van Halen, now it’s too late … Same with The Runaways … They should have inducted them right away as their induction performance could have included drummer Sandy West … And the list goes on.
At least we got Bad Company while they’re still alive!
