40 Years of ‘Night Songs’
On this date back in 1986, Cinderella released their Glam masterpiece Night Songs.
The album includes some great tracks like “Nobody’s Fool” and “Night Songs.” In fact, that title track remains one of my all-time favorite songs. It’s angry and sleazy and oh-so-Glam! The first line, “Workin’ this job ain’t payin the bills,” is pure perfection. Simple, straightforward, and aggressive.
While the follow-up album Long Cold Winter is more bluesy and has more hits, I still think Cinderella made their legacy with Night Songs. It’s raw, gritty and hungry.
Cinderella singer Tom Keifer shared a little nostalgia today on his socials - the handwritten lyrics to “Night Songs.” A treat to see.
