Blessed By A Broken Heart - Totally Bringing Back Glam!

Oh my glam! My friend Alan shot me a link to a video from Blessed By A Broken Heart. I'm not sure he actually likes them mind you. I think it was more amusement/confusion/general interest. But I love them! Wiki says they are Metalcore. I say they are Glam! Ok, maybe they are both. Oh, they are Christian metal too. But still. Guitarist Shred Sean (yeah, that's his name) can play. So recognize. This Canadian band is the real deal.

I want to interview this band. Right after I buy the entire Blessed By A Broken Heart collection.

Dead Sara Added to ShipRocked Lineup

A newish band called Dead Sara was just added to ShipRocked.

The cruise already features Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, P.O.D., Sevendust, Filter, Fuel, Lit, Black Stone Cherry, Geoff Tate, Gilby Clarke and In This Moment. I hadn't heard of Dead Sara before learning the band was going to be on ShipRocked, but a little research lead me to a nice Rolling Stone article about the band. I really like them and I think you will too. Check them out.

ShipRocked sails November 27 - December 1, leaving from Ft. Lauderdale, and making stops in Key West and Nassau.

Rock on the Range 2012 This Weekend!

I'm at Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio this weekend. There are lots of good acts on the bill including Slash, Anthrax, Attack Attack!, Shinedown, James Durbin, Black Stone Cherry, Escape the Fate and many more. Our favorite Australian Christian is with me to add to the fun.

Last night I saw Black Tide and Foxy Shazam during the kick-off party. Today the weather is predicted to be perfect and the crowds will be big! Soon I'll have photos and a review for you. My sunblock is packed and I'm ready to go! Until then...

A New Lynch Mob Collection Is Coming

On June 19, Deadline Music/Cleopatra Records will release a special 3-disc audio/video deluxe collection of Lynch Mob’s Revolution.

The set features the full-length studio album Revolution with killer, supercharged renditions of classic Dokken/Lynch Mob tracks such as “Tooth And Nail,” “Breaking The Chains,” “Wicked Sensation,” and more.  It also includes professionally filmed live performances recorded during the 2005 Revolution Tour, mixed in 5.1 surround sound.

George “Mr. Scary” Lynch cemented his legendary role in the heavy music community in the early 1980s when he joined forces with Don Dokken.  For almost a decade with Dokken, Lynch was able to develop a groundbreaking brand of guitar virtuoso that would also earn a Grammy nomination.  In the early 1990s, Lynch launched his own project, Lynch Mob, which released several well-received records in between Lynch’s eclectic other solo works.

But in 2003, the Mob reassembled to rework Dokken and Lynch Mob material.  The result was a decidedly darker, heavier, and very experimental reinvention that fans of all iterations of George Lynch appreciated.  They took it on the road for a series of fierce concerts that left audiences jaw-dropped at the band’s creative live presentation.

Along with the legendary George Lynch on guitar, this iteration of Lynch Mob features the return of Robert Mason on vocals after nearly a decade absence, original bassist Anthony Esposito, and Michael Frowein on drums.

Revolution will be available at record stores and online, MSRP $16.98.
