A Good Reminder

Poison singer Bret Michaels posted an important reminder for all of us earlier today. “Getting healthy” means focusing on the physical and mental. Good timing, too. I took a vacation day just to have a break from… everything. I needed a day of not commuting and dealing with insanity, deadlines and people.

Instead of work, I went to my favorite antique store and bought lots of records. In fact, it was an amazing record haul day. There were so many I left behind because I don’t have Gene Simmons money.

A surprising find that immediately went into my basket was guitarist Larry Carlton’s Alone / But Never Alone solo release from 1986. Yes, I did gasp when I flipped and saw it. I also got an original pressing of my beloved Nazareth’s Hair of the Dog and Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance, among others. Another cool find was a “Blue on Black” Kenny Wayne Shepherd shirt for 5 bucks. Oh you bet I grabbed that fast, too.
