Happy Birthday, ‘Shout’

Happy 43rd birthday to the album that changed it all.

Mötley Crüe’s Shout at the Devil is 43 today and, for most folks, really sparked the Glam scene. In fact, I don’t see the big hair revolution happening without this album.

Is Shout my favorite Crüe album? No, but it’s probably second. Shout - and the Crüe - deserve massive respect for this release alone. Yes, they were gritty on Too Fast For Love, but they became gritty Glam on Shout. Plus, it was totally subversive at the time, and nothing beats that when it comes to culture-bending trends.
