‘Kashmir’ - Modern Style

Here’s a little random discovery I made while taking a walk after Pilates this morning. I turned on my Amazon Music, clicked over to the new Starset song, and then just let it go through the band’s catalog.

I didn’t realize the band recorded a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” but they did, back in 2021, apparently. The song is an “Amazon Original Exclusive.”

It’s an odd little cover. It kind of stays true to the original for most of the song, but then definitely gets more modern and metal in the last third.

Starset has been around for several years now. They are from Columbus, Ohio.

Unlike most rock bands, Starset has both male and female members - there are 7 of them total! “Kashmir” was a great song to cover for Starset since they have both a cellist and a violinist. What do you think?
