‘Let There Be Shred’

Megadeth is back with another single from their forthcoming final album. The self-titled release is due January 23, 2026.

The latest single is “Let There Be Shred” and it’s pretty good! Lots of old school Megadeth vibes here and so many guitar solos.

There’s a lot of fighting in the video of the hand-to-hand kind. Dave Mustaine has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so the clip is obviously a tribute to that hobby and passion. He has more martial arts black belts, too, so Mustaine is clearly talented in the sport.

I feel like Megadeth had fun writing this song. I expect it will be played regularly on the upcoming farewell tour. I hope I get to hear it live when I see them at the Sonic Temple festival.
