‘No Apologies’

I had completely forgotten the Bon Jovi track “No Apologies” until I heard it on satellite radio yesterday. I was flipping channels and stopped on Bon Jovi radio, and “No Apologies” came on. The song is on the 2010 album Greatest Hits. “No Apologies” was included as a previously unreleased track.

Listening to the song again for the first time in forever, I was struck by just how classic it is, and that is probably because it was written by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, just like the good old days. The song is hopeful and high-powered and was originally intended for a sports league.

“No Apologies” is a real gem of a song, and it is too bad it isn’t played more than some of the nu-country tunes the band seems to write these days.

Rediscovering an old track by a favorite band is sort of like a gift. It’s almost like getting a new song, but with some comfort and familiarity of the past.
