‘Red, White and Jersey’

I’ll give Bon Jovi this: they corner the market on loving New Jersey and never fail to tie the state to good, old-fashioned Americana. No wonder Bon Jovi decided to release their new song and video “Red, White and Jersey” this Labor Day weekend.

The song is from the upcoming package Forever (Legendary Edition). It comes out October 24th and features lots of famous friends including Bruce Springsteen, Joe Elliott, Avril Lavigne… and a bunch of country artists too.

“Red, White and Jersey” is the only original single on the new package. Classic Bon Jovi it is not. Oh sure, the hook is there and so is the melody, but it is way dialed down - there are no loud guitars here. This is not “Lay Your Hands On Me” or “Livin’ On A Prayer.”

I would categorize “Red, White and Jersey” as more pop than rock, but you be the judge.
