It’s Saturday again, and that means another installment of the Sonic Saturday series.
This week I’m featuring Sleeping With Sirens. The band will play the first day of Sonic Temple and headline one of the side stages. The band’s latest album is An Ending In Itself (Rise Records), and they are touring behind it now.
Now, click play on the video below. Yes, that’s a male singer. Yes, he’s 40. Kellin Quinn has a crazy high voice for a guy, and that is his signature. He is a guest singer on one of my favorite Pierce the Veil songs, “King for a Day” - high notes galore on that one.
I love the single “House of Matches” so much, and it reminds me of early 2010s metalcore, which I consider the golden age of the genre.
The video for “Matches” is quite simple overall and was directed by Max Moore, whom the band has worked with before. He’s also done work for bands like Motionless in White and A Day To Remember.
And some old stuff! “If You Can’t Hang” is below.
It was never a phase.
