Many thanks to Loudwire for this post alerting me to the hilarity.

Bret Michaels Band guitarist Pete Evick went nuts online over the pushback Bret received regarding the - now apparently defunct - Great American State Fair Freedom 250 Concert fiasco that was originally booked to perform at and then ultimately backed out. I guess Bret’s fans criticized the singer for agreeing to the show to begin with and no one should be surprised. Also, celebrities should be used to public criticism, especially online. No matter I guess.

Pete went on his Facebook for a little rant and it ended like this (the bold is mine):

If Bret or me have ever put a dime in your pocket, given you a free ticket, a free meet and greet, a free hotel room, a free flight, a photo pass, let you or your child perform onstage with us, gotten something signed for you or your charity, let you stand on the side of the stage, let you open for us, given you a shout out on social media, gone out of our way to call or FaceTime a sick or dying relative that we don’t even know, or if you are one of those people when I’ve gotten Bret to show up at one of my local gigs, and you were the first in line to be close to him who has now openly turned your back on him. FUCK OFF. We see you, we see your posts, FUCK OFF. I’m not saying you have to openly support him. But those that called us friends four days ago and have used and abused us and have now turned on us. FUCK OFF.

I mean, say whatever you want and I get why Pete is angry, but I don’t think throwing shade at the sick and dying is great here.

The best part of this entire mess is Trump saying he’s never heard of “any of the artists” originally booked for the Freedom 250 shows. I remember when Bret was on Celebrity Apprentice - and that he won! I mean, it’s classic Trump deflection, but come on. When are people going to get sick of this crap?
