Warren Buffett Is So Glam

I always knew Warren Buffett rocked and now there's proof! The financial expert donned an Axl Rose-like costume in a new GEICO "music video." The song, entitled "Lizard Ballad: All For You" is below. At the beginning, I'm reminded of the Crash Test Dummies. The music in this clip is freaking horrid, but it's a good ad concept. Even better is that the clip was just for fun at the employee's annual meeting last month. In case you're wondering, the people in the video are actual GEICO employees. (GEICO is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.).

I think it's great Buffett donned the classic Rose kilt. Gotta love plaid.

I Want to See Orianthi in Concert!

I've written about Orianthi before. Half of you agreed she rules and the others couldn't get past the fact that she sings pop songs while shredding. Last night, Orianthi performed on American Idol and I was reminded how much I'd love to see her live. It's not even about the singing - it's about watching her hands move on the fretboard. Fantastic!

I just checked Orianthi's website - she's only got a couple live dates planned and neither is near me. In case you're interested, she's playing University of Illinois (Champaign) on April 12 and the Hangout Festival at Gulf Shores, Alabama on May 14. I actually really would love to attend Hangout but three festivals in as many weeks just isn't possible, even for the Glam mistress!

I've been wanting to post the video of Orianthi with Steve Vai for awhile but something always comes up or I get distracted. The clip is great - the song is "Highly Strung" and Vai looks and sounds great here. I'm a fan or harmonics - and I hope you like the song, too.

Sammy Hagar to Play Naperville Ribfest

Sammy Hagar has been tapped to play the Naperville Ribest this July (Naperville is near Chicago, IL). The fest runs from July 1st - 4th and Sammy will play Friday, July 2nd. Other performers include Los Lonely Boys, Jonny Lang, and The Charlie Daniels Band. More bands will be added.

Ribfest is held annually at Knoch Park. In fact, this is the 23rd year for the event and I'd love to see Sammy but I've already got too many "travel necessary" shows lined up this summer. Obviously the event is also about food and apparently the promoters promise a ton of ribs, pulled pork, chicken and sauces from many vendors. I don't eat meat - so I'll just believe it's all good!

To keep track of the artists, check the official fest website. Admission is $12 at the gate, but advance tickets save you some cash. Seriously, Hagar for under $12 bucks? Insane! Click for info on advance tickets.

Ribfest is put on by the Exchange Club of Naperville which raises money to fight child abuse.

Vince Neil's 14th Annual Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament Planned

If you're a golfer or you've got some extra cash to spare, you might consider the Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament. Here's the release:

I hope you will consider joining me and some of my favorite Girls, Girls, Girls, at the beautiful Pete Dye and Fred Couples designed Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley, California for the 14th Annual Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament, being held on Friday, May 7th, 2010

In 1995, I lost my daughter Skylar to cancer. Since then, I have been committed to doing everything I can to raise awareness and much needed funding for children’s illnesses. To date, my Skylar Neil Foundation has donated nearly two million dollars to various children’s charities, doing important work and research. I am very proud of all we have been able to achieve over the last dozen years.

We have been extremely fortunate to have corporations like Quality One Wireless, Budweiser, Eagle Auto Warranty, FARA Insurance Services, Dynamic Marketing, Thrifty Car Rental, Ralph's Food-For-Less, The Anthony H. Kruse Foundation ESP Guitars and others provide us with generous financial contributions. Companies like Jägermeister, Monster Energy, Crocs Shoes, Taylor Made, Ray-Ban, Callaway Golf, EA Sports and more have donated some great products for our gift bags and prizes. Other fine companies like Playboy, Hooters, Hawaiian Tropic, Hustler Hollywood, Vivid Video, Wicked Pictures, New Beginnings, Red Light District, Pure Play Media, Evil Angel and Zero Tolerance have even sent out a few "company reps" to greet our golfers, making the day quite enjoyable!

If you are interested in sponsoring, or if you would like to donate an item to our gift bags, auction or raffle, please contact tournament coordinators Alan Koenig at 615-972-1600 (or via email at alan@ask4entertainment.com) or Jon Scott at 818-981-9876 (or via email at jonpaulscott@gmail.com) to discuss these and many other ways you can get involved.

If you are interested in playing in the tournament, please complete and return the golfer registration form as soon as possible. We sell out very quickly every year. Individual and team entries are reserved with payment only, on a first come – first served basis.

Eradicating childhood illness is a cause that is near and dear to my heart, so I hope that you will find it in yours to become a part of the 14th Annual Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament.

Vains of Jenna Lead Singer Leaves Band

I didn't see this one coming. Vains of Jenna lead singer Lizzy DeVine has left the band according to a post on their official Myspace.  Considering the band has a ton of shows booked, I'm stunned.

Here's the statement:

Swedish rock band VAINS of JENNA seek new front man vocalist.

The last 5 years with this band has been the best years of my life. It's with a tear in my eye, but a whole lot of love and respect for the band, manager, endorsers and fans all over the world, I announce that I'm no longer the lead singer/front man of VAINS OF JENNA. It's been a crazy ride. And I've loved every second of it. But now I must move on and let the band grow. I've done more with this band than I could ever have dreamed of but now it's time for new adventures! I love all of you. Lizzy DeVine.

VAINS of JENNA comprised of lead guitarist and main song writer Nicki Kin (Age 23), bassist JP White (26) and drummer Jacki Stone (23) embrace this change with the following statement.  We have always been a family and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. Today we support and respect Lizzy's choice. We wish him all the best in the future and we part ways as friends. To our fans and friends everywhere, we are as shocked at this development as the rest of you. But we are real, committed to our music and will go forward. We have been honored by all of your support over the years and cannot express enough our regrets to bring this news. But this is reality and we accept the challenge.

VAINS of JENNA formed in 2005 in Falkenberg Sweden. They have been featured internationally on TV and radio, appeared in hundreds of print articles and performed over 400 shows in a dozen countries. The band was originally signed by MTV star BAM MARGERA (Jackass/Viva La Bam) to Filthy Note/Universal in 2006. Soon followed major North America tours with Poison, Ratt & GWAR in 2007. They returned to Europe in 2008 and toured ITALY, ENGLAND & SWEDEN which included the Mega Festival SWEDEN ROCK. In the summer of 2009 the band was back in Los Angeles to release
The Art of Telling Lies (RLS/RAW NOIZE) which received 5 star reviews around the globe. Since inception VAINS of JENNA have continuously drawn comparisons to legendary groups like Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses and Hanoi Rocks.

We are seeking a young, hungry, aggressive, dedicated, fresh face and voice to front our band. Someone who is one of us. If you think you’re the guy for the job  then step to the plate now.Nicki, JP & Jacki

Music/video samples, photos, bio and more are welcome. All inquiries should be directed to www.myspace.com/vainsofjenna

The show must go on - VAINS of JENNA

Ratt, 'Eat Me Up Alive' - New Song

The guys in RATT have released another track off their upcoming release Infestation. The song is "Eat Me Up Alive" and it's good - but not as strong as "Best of Me." Stephen Pearcy's voice is a little too raspy on this track for my liking, but I love the guitars, so it sort of balances.

Infestation will be released 4/20. I've already pre-ordered my copy off Amazon.
