batonrouge.jpgDoes anyone remember Baton Rouge?

Having a mild flu for the last week means I've had a lot of time to click around the Internet and watch videos. This leads me to Baton Rouge and "Walks Like a Woman." I really like this song.

I guess the members of Baton Rouge broke off into different bands. Lead singer Kelly Keeling was also in the Michael Schenker Group and later, Blue Murder.

I wonder if Baton Rouge would ever consider reuniting for a few shows or for Rocklahoma? I'd definitely be down for that.

So...what do you think of Baton Rouge?

I just picked up one of their reissued CD's that I didnt have.

Wounded Bird Records just released Baton Rouge's debut and 2nd disc.

They are worth checking out!
Baton Rouge is awesome and would love to see them at Rocklahoma!

I remember the name, but never heard them. One of the many bands that kind of got lost when labels were siging everyone without thinking about how they would market them.

Yeah, Baton Rouge! Someone mentioned them a week or 2 ago in the message boards about your favorite unknown glam bands. As I wrote there, I was hanging with them in a studio in NJ one night (shooting interviews with the band) while they were recording "Tie You Up". That was a lot of fun. After being reminded of them, I searched the web and bought "Lights out on the Playground" last week. Those guys were really good. I wonder what they're all doing now. Anyone know?

These guys were awesome and before people say to pass on the for Rocklahoma, I think you should check out their stuff first. Of course are they even around or able to get back together for something like Rocklahoma? Allyson, maybe we should start a thread on the Rocklahoma forums and see what people think?

I agree - KixRules. Baton Rouge are awesome. They had a big push behind them in the day, and the songs were top notch, I can't imagine why they didn't take off, except that perhaps they were a little too 'corporate' sounding for the mood of the times. I still love them tho, especially 'shake your soul'. I also think their choice of singles sucked. There's not a bad song on that CD, but 'walks like a woman' was perhaps a low point. I'd have picked 'doctor', 'big trouble' or 'baby's so cool' for the single.

Christian - Doctor is an amzing song!! That whole cd is awesome. Wish they would consider reuniting and playing ROK sometime.

Baton Rouge is one of the most under-rated bands EVER. Kelly Keeling's vocals are outstanding, and I have known this band from the start to today...

I am sure they'll be thrilled to read these posts, and I'll pass the word on to the band members!

(yes they are still around working on solo projects!)
