DJ Ashba Joins Guns n' Roses; The Glam Mistress Awaits Tour News

It's been a hot Internet rumor for the past two weeks that Dj Ashba would join Guns n' Roses. Yesterday, Axl Rose confirmed the news.

Guns N' Roses is proud to announce that guitarist n' songwriter Dj Ashba has joined the band. Ashba, who officially replaces current NIN guitarist Robin Finck, is best known as co-founder of hard rock bands Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures.

"Dj's a gifted, energetic guitarist that Guns N' Roses is proud to have on board!!" exclaims Axl Rose. "We're very excited to have the opportunity to work together. Guns' radar has silently been aware of Dj's presence for quite some time. He brings a fresh approach to our particular brand of mayhem expanding the tapestry of Guns N' Roses live. Once Dj's name was in the hat, the hat disappeared!!"

"It's an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of a band that I have always loved and respected," said Dj Ashba. "I'm looking forward to working with Axl, who is not only one of the few great front men of our generation, but a true artist."

Dj Ashba co-wrote and co-produced Motley Crue's latest album Saints of Los Angeles, which garnered a 2008 GRAMMY nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance, as well as co-wrote and co-produced the Sixx AM album Heroin Diaries.

I think the addition of Dj is great for Guns n' Roses. The only original member is Axl anyway, so he might as well surround himself with some great talent. Dj's playing style and ability seem to fit the GnR mold. I hope this addition/announcement means that Guns n' Roses are about to hit the road. The rumor on that front is that Guns n' Roses will tour this summer with Van Halen. Talk about a great bill! I'd be *very* excited for this - more so for GnR than VH since I saw the latter band two times last summer.

A pending GnR tour announcement does leave the Glam Mistress in a bit of a bind: concert and festival season is quickly eating my vacation days. Heather and I decided we need to see GnR in Las Vegas...I've only got a few days unaccounted for, so GnR better get on the ball!

So, what do you think of the addition of Dj Ashba to Guns n' Roses?

1. That band is not GNR.
2. Axl is an ass!!

3. Dj Ashba is an asset to any band and a great guitarist, to bad it's with Axl.

Dj is such a sweet guy and an asset to any band. To bad it's with Axl. But Axl will do to him what he has done to all his band members in the past.

The only question I have is, "What does this mean for Sixx:A.M.?" I am still enjoying "The Heroin Diaries" CD, and was looking forward to more in the near future. I just hope this doesn't take DJ out of the recording studio to the point the Sixx:A.M. has to get a new guitarist.

Get a life, Nancy.

Yes. It is Guns n' roses, whether you like it or not.

I completely agree with JT, exactly what I was gonna say.
I dont think even DJ Ashba can save 'guns n roses'. Chinese Democracy was atrocious. I bought it aswell. But I just wonder what will happen to Sixx:A.M.? Because Nikki said they're writing a new album didnt he?

at least i have a good excuse to like gnr. dj's a fuckin badass and makes anyone look good. i just hope this isn't the end of sixx:a.m. i thought there was a second album in the making.

but this is fuckin strange. i would never put dj in a band like gnr. perhaps he can save them. or at least make them look good on their way out.

There will be another SIXX AM album. Read my old interview with Dj, he talks about it quite a lot:

Ugh, I hope this isn't death to Sixx:A.M...

He is too good for GNR

I think DJ is a good fit for GN'R. Listen to the first Beautiful Creatures album, His style on that owes alot to Guns. I thought Robin was good too but DJ's background is more inline with GN'R's style.

Axl's a fucking narcissistic asshole. There's obviously a reason there's been like 97 different members since the original line up back in the day.Now you have to ask yourself, who's been the only constant? Here's hoping DJ at least makes it through the tour (if there IS actually a tour,'cause you just never know when it comes to the high and mighty one....)

My sentiments exactly, Gary.

This is a great addition for GNR. Chinese Democracy was all that I expected plus more and I think DJ will serve as a great asset to the band. I cant wait for the tour. Save money, dont go to Poison or Motley, go to GNR!!

Better take a wait-and-see approach. Axl is so unpredictable that it could easily be another 13 years before there is any activity. Here's hoping that's not the case ...

Can't wait for the tour and DJ rocks.
Chinese Democracy is amazing and has sold a million and counting. All you negative people can suck it!
