Ok, Who Bought the New Chickenfoot Disc?

Chickenfoot - the supergroup featuring Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith - just released its self-titled debut. I went to the local Wal-Mart (yeah, I stay classy) but couldn't find a copy of the disc. Digital is fine, but I still want a traditional copy for the album art.

Note: From now until June 8th, is offering the digital download of Chickenfoot for only $3.99.

So what is great on this much anticipated debut? Quite frankly, a whole lot - but what do you expect when Sammy is involved? Hagar is just a great musician and frontman and his songs are fun. He gets the idea of being the total package: rockstar second, entertainer first.

"Oh Yeah" is the first single and it's probably my favorite track on the disc. I also really like "Soap On A Roap."

I was really hoping to see Chickenfoot on tour this summer, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. None of the dates match my free time/vacation/location schedule.

For the most part, the Chickenfoot disc is lighthearted fun. No one in the band is known for making uptight albums, and this amazing debut falls right in line with the traditional care free attitude that tends to surround any Sammy Hagar project. It rocks and you want it - trust me.

All this talk of Sammy makes me want to go to Cabo...

Thanks for the tip, Allyson. I am waiting for this CD to come from Amazon, but in the meantime, for $4, I may as well download and sample right away.

People of the FOOT, are you listening? Chickenfoot, NOW WE"RE TALKING!! Now, I can talk, chat, write, love on me some HAGAR! I love this project that Sam has put together and it's so great to see Mikey back playing some new music (you think EVH is a bit jealous of this project and the hype surrounding it since he had to come out two weeks ago with his ridiculous statements just to get his name back in the press....). Ok, back to the FOOT! I love that digital download offer, however I'll have me the official CD and probably the vinyl version too. The word on the street that the energy of the Chickenfoot show is great. It's new, fresh and exciting. I love the wabo's but I also love the fact that Sam likes to change it up from time to time (anyone remember the Planet Us project?). I think the songs are fun and can hardly wait to see it live this summer. Learning to Fall is by far my favorite, from the very first time I heard this song weeks ago, it just gave me chills. Yeah, I'll have to travel for this one. Did someone say CABO???

I'm in for that trip to Cabo. Love the album. Were going to see them in Halifax Nova Scotia in August, its going to be a great time. I was always a major Hagar fan, but since he has taken on the Cabo Wabo lifestyle I think he has hit his stride at 61
