Rocklahoma Rumors 2011

It's that time again. February 1st and that means it is time to discuss a few Rocklahoma rumors. For what it is worth, I heard the fest will be a modern/classic mix again. Pollstar has the fest listed as May 28 so I don't know if it will start on Friday like last year or on Saturday and therefore go through the Memorial Day holiday.

So who is rumored to play Rocklahoma 2011? Well, Gypsy Pistoleros, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Black Label Society, Hinder and Texas Hippie Coalition. Obviously many more bands are needed to round out the lineup. Pollstar also has Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights as playing the fest, so that's a given I guess.

I have no idea when the official announcement will come but I would think soon. Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma are both produced by AEG Live and Rock on the Range is announcing today, so I'd say Rocklahoma news is imminent. Thoughts?

Drowning Pool is supposedly on the bill according to vdob but I don't know where they get their sources. They are going to be touring with Trust Company throughout the spring so that might be another one to put on the bill. I would imagine that a lot of the smaller bands that are playing RoTR will also make the trek to Rocklahoma. And lastly, Papa Roach is playing Riverfest in Little Rock that same weekend so we might see them make the 3 hour drive to Pryor as well

Agree 100% Kari and Metal Girl. Last year more of a Sucklahoma than Rocklahoma from a Glam perspective. Could have brought some new bands in like Airbourne, Vains of Jenna, etc but strayed to alternative rock which = not fun rock. Instead was Rock on the Range West.

Black Tora will be there. They are a young classic band, in the vein of Judas Priest / Saxon / AC/DC... also WildStreet, and The Glitter Boys!

Whitesnake 'could' play Rocklahoma, but traveling from Pryor, Ok to Moscow, Russia for a June 2nd show makes that a stretch (Not impossible)

Motley Crue also 'could' play since they will be in Mexico on May 26th & 27th.

Doesn't bleedin matter anyway, its all shite these days, Need real rock stars to make it go in my opinion, closest to that at this time is Motley Crue, seriously the music industry at its whole is a bunch of dodgey gobshites with out an original thought left in their miniscule minds. Gone lads are the days when we could see Zepplin and The Who, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, even the old timers aren't really writing good stuff anylonger. Best hope for Rock 2011 was to see the Foo Fighters and Motorhead, Hell id give one ace of spades for any of the crues crap. Glam Rock my Arse might as well be bleadin Poison and winger for shits sake.
