8 Track is Back!

Yesterday I told you that Diemonds re-released their debut on cassette. Now, thanks to a tip by an awesome BBG! reader, I'm happy to report that a band called the Biters has just re-released the album All Chewed Up on... 8 Track.

Seriously.

The Biters remind me of The Ju Ju Hounds, Cheap Trick and some classic rock band I can't put my finger one. The band is from Atlanta and just sound so unique. The Biters are not really Glam, but they do rock.

Now back to that 8 Track. I'm not old enough to have ever owned an 8 Track, let alone an 8 Track player but I love the nostalgia and it's a great marketing ploy for the band.

Wow, a unique-sounding, snappy, well-written, get-to-the-hook pop/rock tune -- such a rare find these days. Cool video too. I'll certainly be making an Amazon purchase. But although I am (more than) old enough to (fondly) remember the 8-track era (Can you say, "Foghat?"), I'll likely opt for their less-hip, CD format.

Thanks for the heads up on this, Allyson.

I hear ya Chris. I too am more than old enough to remember the equivalent of a small God Damn suitcase in my car to carry 8 tracks...LOL

These boyz are REAL Rock'n'Roll!

p.s. I've got around 600 8-Tracks! Got 'em for my White '76 Eldorado Convertible. Zep, Crüe, AC/DC, Motorhead, Ramones, Trick, even The Pistols!

Saw them with Jesse Malin in Columbus a few nights ago...pity only about 25 people saw them play, but they were awesome. I could hear Phil Lynott singing
"Breakin' Your Heart Again" from the new CD. The riffs sound straight Thin Lizzy with a little Heartbreakers thrown in. Great stuff!

Cheap Trick already did this with the release of their last album, "The Latest" back in 2009 on 8-track.
