A Different Version of Vixen Perform As VXN

Original Vixen members Janet Gardner, Roxy Petrucci and Share Ross have reunited as VXN. They are joined by guitarist Gina Stile.

Guitarist Jan Kuehnemund owns the name Vixen and has her own touring version of the band. Of course, the question begs: does the world need two versions of Vixen? I mean, really? Not that I don't dig the sounds off the debut album, because I do... but still. It's not like we're talking about a massive catalog here, right?

I saw Vixen (Jan's version) at Rocklahoma a few years back. It was just okay.

VXN will reunite at a select number of festivals and showcase dates in 2013.

THe answer is "No". That being said, I'll take the vowel-less version with 3 out of 4 members of the "classic" lineup.

I say "classic" instead of original, because Vixen had an almost 10 year run BEFORE they ever got a record deal.

And no disrespect to Jan, either. I'd like to actually see her join this version. Don't ditch Gina either. They could actually benefit from being a 2 guitar, 5 piece band.

This is just like the current Dokken situation. T&N > Dokken, just like VXN > Vixen.

You may know this, but if not: Gina Stile and her sister Ronnie were in a band called Envy. Their 1987 debut album (their only release), Ain't It A Sin, as produced by Dee Snider. Well worth a listen.

Great comments, all. They really should put it ALL together.

But we see the trend with owners of the name...

Axl, Dokken, Danger Danger, et al.

p.s. VXN is confirmed for The Monster's of Rock Cruise in March. And great info, Niklas. I just saw the ENVY CD go for over $300 two weeks ago on Ebay.

I could care less either way. What bugs me about this is the members of VXN have been virtually non-existent for a long time. Say what you will about Jan at least she has been an active musician since their demise.
Wasn't Share in a band with the guitarist from Life Sev and Death? That;s the only thing I can think of the vowel less girls have done.

I guess we'll see what they bring on The Zmonsters of Rock Cruise. Keep in mind, Scott, it ain't rocket science they were performing back in the day.

Lita and Lorraine oughtta join 'em on stage for a Runaways medley! Now THAT would be cool!

why does danger danger keep getting mentioned with bands that only have one player or two of the same bands they have almost all the original minus one
