This Is Why Aerosmith Is Still My Favorite Band

Aerosmith is currently on the road, playing dates on their Global Warming tour. (I still don't get that tour name). Sadly, the band isn't coming anywhere close to me... and this leaves me with YouTube, right? Here are videos from the Minneapolis show earlier this week. The full set:

Draw The Line
Love In An Elevator
Oh Yeah
Walkin The Dog
Livin On The Edge
Cryin
Ragdoll
Last Child
SOS
Combination
What It Takes
Legendary Child
I Dont Want To Miss A Thing
Mama Kin
Sweet Emotion
Walk This Way
Dream On
Train Kept A Rollin

And here's the world premiere of the new song "Oh Yeah"

Decent setlist too. Rag Doll is cool tune and What It Takes an ok ballad. Not to mention classics like Draw The Line, Mama Kin and my favorite Aerosmith tune Sweet Emotion.

Aerosmith continues to show why they're one of the best live acts ever. Not a bad set list, with something to please everybody. S.O.S. is a welcome re-addition! No if only they'd add "No More, No More".

I'll be catching this tour at the Hollywood Bowl. Maybe I'll write a review.

huge aero fan since 1977 (my son is even named Steven Tyler!) - a friend asked me if i was interested in going to see them this ummer - checked prices - seats in the middle are $176 - I don't think so.

Yeah, I hear ya not2hi,even the nosebleeders at the Wells Fargo in Philly are $100.Told the better half if we go,I'm going all in,as in, if I'm paying that much,I'm going the extra peso's and getting up close and personal. Plus, it's frickin' sold out,so I will have to go through Stub Hub or some other "slam you in the ass" ticket broker....

concert money is a little tight right now, given that VH toured a few venues in this area, Cinderella is coming around and lest we forget Steve Summers and his America Rocks tour (spare the posts bloggers...I get my own jokes). I even have tix to two Kiss/Motley shows in which I am taking one of boys to each show as they love Kiss's stage show (what 10yo kid wouldn't?), sooo, I have been trying to figure out whether I was going to spend extra cash on DL/Poison or Aero/CT. I was waiting for the setlists and the reviews before deciding. After reading this post, coupled with Mitch Lafon's (Bravewords) posts of DL/Poison; I will definately check out this show instead and hope that Poison gets re-focussed. (note to not2hi): my 4yo daughter's nickname is "my little steven tallaricco". If you met her, you would know why.

I got lucky the last time I saw 'em (2007!) when they played nearly every thing here except the newer stuff plus they also performed "Rats In The Cellar", "Seasons Of Wither" (Huge!), "Sick As A Dog" (my fave!) and "Jaded" (during the latter Tyler held out his mike for me to sing back ups for him).

It is amazing to me how other bands like Def Leppard, who are a generation younger, can't sustain the same level of excellence Aerosmith duz. To perform at this level decade after decade is beyond astonishing.

Aerosmith truly is in a class unto itself.
