Bret Michaels, 'Get Your Rock On' -- New Video

Bret Michaels has a new video for his single "Get Your Rock On." The song is from the album of the same name. The song also features Phil Collen of Def Leppard and Sal Coz Costa of My Darkest Days.

I have to say, I don't quite get this video. Why does it look so cheap? I'm sure Bret has a decent video budget... but the production isn't great. Also, the face-cam sort of freaks me out. Anyway, have a look and let me know what you think.

Gotta admit, better than usual, though it still ain't Poison. Though the dude can't sing anymore and is reduced to the ol' "Talkin' the lyrics sing-songy approach", Phil Collen rescues the whole affair with some killer guitar.

Thank God a song with a title like this actually does Rock! Well, at least the music does. Finally Michael's jumps on the bandwagon with a nod to the sound that originally made him famous (music wise).

Now if he could just take a cue from RATT and L.A. Guns (Phil Lewis) and get POISON together to make a legit album. But no sing-songy sh*t!

In the meantime, can we get somebody to cover this song who can actually sing? And write lyrics -- seriously, Jaegar Bombs? New heights of the lowest of low in the idiotic lyrics department.

I actually liked the video angle and all. The video had an old Poison vibe, which makes me wish that They were still making records. If he can put the energy into his solo stuff, certainly they can do put one out for the Poison boyz.

I must have been listening to another song than everyone else. It sounded to me like uninspired old school Kid Rock to me. There wasn't an ounce of actual singing to it. It was fast talking and filled with idiotic and repetitive lyrics. The quality sucked too but I expect that from Bret. I swear he's recording this stuff in Evick's basement.

Awful. Just plain awful. Bret needs to just go away.

I couldn't get thru enough of it to GET to a Phil Collen guitar solo. This is just so beneath what Bret used to be.

God that song is terrible and he sounds like crap. He should just hang it up if he is going to put out crap like that.

All of Bret's solo stuff looks like it was filmed by a high school video class.

i kind of liked it but ya singin was missing as for poison not releasin anythin i believe its the other members holding them back back not brett. this song has a 80 rock/new country feel to it its too bad he didnt sing it out

That is terrible. No way would a new Poison sound any better with this "singing" Bret does now. First all these fake health issues, now this audio diarrhea. He should just go the hell away.

The only person not wanting to release new Poison music is Bret. Why should he split royalties with 3 others when he can record this garbage. I can't imagine anyone paying for this. Only reason to go see his solo show is to hopefully see his wig fly off his head.

glamrockerarchie, "i believe its the other members holding them back back not brett" is the dumbest thing anybody has ever said on this site. And thats sayin something. Dude, really?? Bret is the PROBLEM in Poison.

Poison's biggest problem is called EGO and every member of the band has one. They actually believe that they are as talented as they are popular. They aren't the only band guilty of this but they are one we are talking about now. The sad truth is they wrote all of their hits when they were young, hungry, scared of losing their record deal and competing with other bands that were just as talented as they were. That drive and fear make you write better songs and it makes you want to be better than the other guy so you try harder. What does Bret have to prove anymore? He's already made it and he's only competing with himself.

Some of what I just said is what is keeping today's music so crappy. Who's actually competing or striving to be better than anyone else in the business? Today bands are just desperately trying to get the fan to buy their stuff without even thinking of being better than any other band out there. The quality of writing will only go up if their is a solid business with fierce competition like back in the mid to late 80's.

Good beat, but what is he singing about,it has got me puzzled. Cheap Video, with footage I have seen before from previous videos. I agree, the face-cam makes him look odd.

I couldn't past the first verse. Not a good song by any means. Times like these I wonder why I ever like Poison.
