80s In The Park Festival Announced

If you're hungry for a Glam festival, I have one for you: 80s In The Park. The festival is set for September 28 and 29 at Wickham Park Pavilion in Melbourne, Florida.

Bands slated to perform include Warrant, Slaughter, Quiet Riot, LA Guns (Phil Lewis version),The Motels, Molly Hatchet, Georgia Satellites, Tommy Tutone, Gene Loves Jezebel, Bertie Higgins, Thor and more. There will also be a faux 80s prom, kids zone and cult film festival. Tickets are on sale now and VIP packages are available. Wickham Park has a campground and I assume many festival goers will stay over the weekend.

Any Florida BBGers planning on attending this one?

They lost me at Tommy Tutone. But up to him, I like all the line up. If I lived in FLA. I'd be there for this!! Always dug Martha Davis's voice from The Motels. Wonder if she still singing with them?

FYI: It is no longer necessary to clarify which "version" of LA Guns is playing. Tracii isnt doing LAG any longer.

Melbourne is only 1 hour and 15 minutes from where I live in Orlando. However, beyond L.A. Guns and Slaughter, not sure how excited I can get about this.

They may have lost you at Tommy Tutone, Gary, but they actually lost me at Warrant (Total borefest now without Lane), then revived me with Slaughter, then lost me at Quiet Riot, then revived me at L.A. Guns but after that, I flatlined.....

Gimme Sabbath in Tampa on July 29th or, for a mere 15 bux, Texas Hippie Coalition in Orlando on July 16th and Black Veil Brides on July 26th in St. Pete.

p.s. Good point, Kenny O, hahaha!!! You're always on it, Bro.

@Gary: Martha is still singing with the motels. my fave motels song is "take the L out of lover...and its over" classic!
@Metalboy- you're gonna love the coalition!!! they will melt your face :)

Really, guys? The Motels? Puleez!!!

p.s. Still, I will follow through on your lead, CRUED and proceed to get my face melted off by THC (the band, that is, hahaha!!!)

Quiet Riot still bring it, Live. (Although I'm not exactly sold on the latest singer they have.) Phil Lewis (Glam royalty for his GIRL connection) also can bring it live. Martha is pretty much the only original still in the Motels, (great vocal talent), they kind of lost me at Molly Hatchet, but they are a southern band... THOR? What rock did they pick him from under? Hasn't his "career" been dead since 1978's "Keepin' The Dogs At Bay" flop?

The Motels are an odd pick, but I'd go mainly to see Georgia Satellites. Sabbath was $15 ? I paid $1000 for VIP....

Black Veil Brides are touring ? I should check dates, I love those guys, and they bring it, live.

Forgot about THOR, Ace. That show might actually be sort of amusing even if it's horrible. Agree with ya on Phil in GIRL. Can't agree with ya on the rest, including Molly Hatchetjob and The Motels. Yawn.

Read carefully, Christian... Texas Hippie Coalition is $15. But you're right, Sabbath is a little crazy-priced but worth it if I had the bread tho it's not quite as steep in Tampa as what you paid. Also, are you back in the States soon? Yeah, check the BVB dates cuz I'm pretty sure they're playin' Dallas, etc.

Yeah, I did. We don't correlate. I also wished I'd been able to see Zombie/5FDP, esp with both having new CDs out by then.

I've got top see THOR. Its the greatest show I have ever witnessed. Saw them in San Francisco. I have the new album "THUNDERSTRYKE" which is Power Metal at its best. Hail THOR!!!
