So This Happened: Tyler and Swift

Steven Tyler joined Taylor Swift on stage Friday night during the Nashville stop on her 1989 tour. The duo sang Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing." The song might be Aerosmith's only number 1 hit (which is ridiculous)... but I still can't stand the song!

There's only one way to beat having Steven Tyler guest at your concert, & Taylor just did it... by having Mick Jagger join you on your stage. Well done, Taylor.

I saw that, too, Ace! Talk about one-upping yourself! Whatever we may think about her music, ya gotta hand it to Swift for her nods to the Rockstars of yore.

Also, you may notice pretty much everyone she's had in her 1989 "Tour Squad" of guests are really in keeping with the retro vibe of the title of her album as they were experiencing success in 1989.

Donated more to charity than any other artist last year. Writes catchy pop tunes that my kids love to sing along. Goes out of her way to make fans feel special (check out video of her and the 7 year old from Overland Park, KS), and looks great in outfits with garters. What's not to love?

I'll say this for her... That girl can write... really well. She's obviously got that certain something that captures the imagination of the record buying public, (the ONLY artist to have a platinum seller last year). She seems personable, & she's easy on the eyes... And if Def Leppard, Tyler, & Jagger see her as a contemporary, that's good enough for me.

Hell, she even inspired Ryan Adams to shrewdly make his latest album a complete reboot of "1989" but in the vein of his "Indie Americana Hipster" vibe. It's actually kind of amusing... If I wasn't such a staunch and jaded Glam Metaller, I'd almost say it's even pretty cool... Check out his version of "Shake It Off" to get a taste:
