Bobby Blotzer Boasts About His Version Of RATT

Bobby Blotzer says his lead singer Josh Alan is way better than Stephen Pearcy. From a technical perspective, that might be true... but Pearcy will always be the voice of RATT. I mean, I wouldn't hate seeing Bobby's version of the band, but it's pretty clear that something better is brewing between Pearcy, Warren DeMartini and Juan Croucier... and the fact that Bobby is now making statements like the one highlighted below by Blabbermouth just further points in that direction.

And "New Coke" blew the original version out of the water too Bob, right? Granted, Pearcy's voice is shot for the most part Your boy Josh nails it live. But you know what? I'll still take the original Led Zeppelin over Get The Led Out every time, no matter how spot on their recreations may be live (and they're incredible. Not to be missed if they come to your area). There's a reason the original was copied in the first place, no Robert???

If SEP, Warren and Juan get their version off the ground, Bobby is done. It'll be back to vending machines and carpet cleaning for him.

Karma.

The kid singing for Blotzer is good. I saw em just 2 nights here in Cincinnati. But the sound of a kids voice is beyond the point when youre talking about the legendary songs that the BAND Ratt wrote and performed together for 3+ decades. Yes, "Ratt" sounded good in Cincinnati, but theres one thing that they arent and never will be, and thats RATT. Ratt is Warren DiMartini and whoever he decides to play with on a stage. The guitar tone and sound of Pearcy's voice defined Ratt, Not one goddamn person ever said that Ratt's drumming was revolutionary or ground-breaking. Blotzer is a tool and his bastarized, cartoon, cover band calling themselves Ratt is a joke.

That's funny, I remember versions of Ratt that included Jake E. Lee, Chris Hagar, Paul DeNisco, Bob DeLellis, & Marq Torien as guitarists long before Warren DiMartini joined, and left,(to join Dokken) and joined, and left,(to join Whitesnake) and joined Ratt again. What gives him such a claim to the name? Now, to be fair, I also saw John Turner, Dave Alford , Bob Eisenberg & Khurt Maeir all fill the drum position before Blotzer... but Bobby never left the band. Ratt is just one of those bands I don't care if a single version still exists, but I have seen Blotz's version & his current singer, Josh, vocally buries Stephen Pearcy. .

Ace, THAT is the perspective we all need as expressed so clearly by GnR. However, DiMartini and Crosby plus Tom Werman, is why we all remember that guitar tone.

With Crosby long gone (RIP), it's DiMartini we want to hear, as it's his guitar on all of those classic albums and that first E.P.

No matter how shot Pearcy's voice is, I'd rather hear the impending reunion of those guys than Blotzer's version any day, no matter how great his singer is.

Now if Pearcy, DiMartini, Croucier and Cavazo want to replace Blotzer with James Kottak, a drummer who blows away Blotto's playing or someone on par with him, that would really send Blotzer a message!
