Eddie Van Halen Sighting

Via Facebook - a recent photo of Eddie Van Halen. You do have to wonder why there are seemingly no photos of the Van Halen brothers swirling around, right? I mean, these guys are rich so surely they go out to eat, hit a gym... something with other people around?

Eddie Trunk recently said Eddie Van Halen was not doing well health-wise. Personally I don't think he looks too bad here. He seems happy. Maybe he is just enjoying his retirement. He earned it.

Holy crap, he looks like shit. No way anyone would recognize him unless you already knew who it was. Oh well, you know what they say about karma. Just like Skid Row has done for most of the last 25 yrs, just waste time with schlubs and play nostalgia type shows, &/or release atrocious new music that sounds absolutely nothing like the bands did in their primes. But yes I know, he had his day. Too bad the narcissism in these guys heads is causing them to throw away so much of their lives & legacies. I prefer to think about what could’ve been for these “poor” types of ppl. Yes, “poor” types, money isn’t everything! I’d grab EVH in a death pool ASAP but I’d prefer if he could somehow overcome his many issues and rise above his arrogant obnoxiousness, & actually become interested once again in bettering the VH legacy & brand. I won’t hold my breath.

Eddie looks perfectly fine in the photo. Lets not forget that he is poshing 65. Add to that the fact that he has lived a very unhealthy lifestyle for many years which has certainly taken its toll as it would on anyone.. As far as new music, I could care less at this point. If they do release something I will buy it, if they tour, I will go see it, but can't people just retire and do what they want?

I actually think Eddie doesn’t look well, this photo being an indication the reports regarding his health are accurate.

Look closely at his face. It looks quite bloated and pale compared to how he looked for the 2012 tour.

I guess it's good to see a picture of Eddie smiling. He doesn't look too bad to me, just somebody who is aging. We all have visions of Eddie slaying the guitar in his early 20's, but this is the Eddie today. Looks like happily retired to me, and he deserves it as he's in his mid 60's. Enjoy life man, why go through the pains and tribulations of touring again ... you've been there, done that, and got all the T-shirts.

I pick the under if we're ever going to see another VH tour, regardless of who fronts the band and if Mikey is in it or not. I'm guessing the only reason Eddie would do it, or just play a few shows, is to get to play with his son. I didn't see the last tour, and have heard Mikey is missed, but as a dad, there cannot be anything more satisfying than being on a big stage together with your son.
