AXS TV will broadcast Aerosmith live from Boston on Monday, November 5. The concert will be broadcast at 12 pm ET.
If you are in the Boston area, you can go see Aerosmith perform live at 1325 Commonwealth Avenue. If that address looks familiar, it should: the band shared an apartment at that address before they made it big.
The concert is a promotional event to celebrate the bands new album Music From Another Dimension. The band is also using the event to gin up excitement for election day. Both the album release and election day are Tuesday, November 6. Music From Another Dimension is the band's first new album of original material in 11 years.
America's east coast is really hurting right now. Hurricane Sandy blasted through the eastern seaboard Monday night and left a path of destruction. Now, several days after the storm, huge swaths of New York City remain without power. Things are worse in much of coastal New Jersey. Entire communities were seemingly washed off the map and thousands are homeless.
The networks of NBCUniversal will televise a benefit tonight to raise money for the Sandy victims. Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Sting will also perform on the telecast. The benefit is slated for tonight at 8 p.m. ET.
Jimmy Fallon and Brain Williams will emcee the event.
If you'd immediately like to give some money to help the hurricane victims you can visit the Red Cross online or you can just text "Red Cross" to 90999 and $10 will be immediately added to your phone bill. The Red Cross has also put out a call for blood donations.
X Factor contestant Jennel Garcia sang Motley Crue's classic "Home Sweet Home" last night. The judges liked it. I didn't. In fact, I thought it was horrible. But hey, what do I know?
Halloween used to be my favorite holiday. I don't really know that I have a favorite holiday anymore, but that is beside the point. Trick or Treat was last night in my Ohio hometown and the weather was bad, so there weren't many kids. And the kids weren't really dressed up either. They were basically huddled up in coats and trying to dodge rain. This means I have a lot of candy leftover!
As it customary, I always post a Halloween video on the holiday for your enjoyment.
Today, the trailer from the movie Trick or Treat... and then the Fastway song of the same name from the soundtrack.
Kip Winger did a little jaunt through Ohio last weekend and one of his stops included Ripper Owens Tap House in Akron. Kip did an acoustic version of "Headed For a Heartbreak" and by all accounts, it was amazing. Lucky for us, we can watch video clips of all the shows we miss! Here's Kip doing a blistering rendition of "Headed for a Heartbreak." Still one of my favorite songs of all time.
A huge hunk of America is in the path of Hurricane Sandy, a potentially deadly storm. I have a lot of friends in the storm's path -- so I hope you are all okay. The New York Times has disabled the paywall requirement for this weather event, and you can track Sandy and related news on their site and through the NYT mobile apps.
President Barack Obama has already signed emergency declarations in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the states of Maryland and New York.
What does all this mean? It means I can't help but post the Scorpions classic "Rock You Like a Hurricane." Please forgive me, but I have to do it. And please be safe, my east coast friends. Here's a twist though: watch as the Scorpions rock out with the Berlin Philharmonic, perhaps the finest orchestral organization in the world. I love this!
Because of immature children, comments are closed on this post and for the next several future posts. Apparently it is okay for me to fit in to your tiny bubble of "Allyson-like-glam-music-good" and nothing more. Someone (and yes, I know who it is, I track every IP) followed me here from Facebook, too childish to address me human to human. People think the Internet makes them invincible. Fine. I am free with my opinions on my Facebook and my Twitter. If you don't like my opinions, it is quite simple: don't follow me. I post my thoughts under my name because I am not spineless.
Why did I close comments? Simple. Because I received a threat (no, not on this site). This will upset my mother and my husband. Personally, I could care less. In fact, I've received threats before. If you know me... you know this hasn't stopped me from voicing my opinions, loud and proud! No, the comments are shut off so you don't upset my mother. She reads everything on this site. She will get upset and then email me. Because immature children upsetting my mother ticks me off, I have to punish the larger group for awhile. It is what it is. But no one will ever silence me. Remember that.
Someday I'll get to Cabo in October and attend one of Sammy Hagar's annual Birthday Bash extravaganzas! Fans could watch the bash for free online, live while it was happening. Now the video links are up for us all to enjoy whenever we want. It's pretty cool. Watch:
