DOJ Considers Lawsuit Against Live Nation
"The U.S. Justice Department is readying a lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment Inc. over alleged violations of conditions imposed on the company by regulators when it bought Ticketmaster nearly a decade ago, according to a person familiar with the matter."

The short of it: the DOJ might go after Live Nation for its ticket practices and violating an anti-trust agreement after the 2010 merger with Ticketmaster. Basically, the Justice Department alleges that Live Nation is forcing concert venues to use the Ticketmaster subsidiary. I'm not a lawyer, but seriously, no kidding. Ticketmaster owns the ticket marketplace. Live Nation owns the promotion marketplace. Of course having these two giant as one entity stifles competition. Think of those crazy ticket prices, massive convenience fees and more. This is something to watch.
