'Dust In The Wind' - Corey Taylor x Bad Omens Cover

Ok this is excellent. I was on vacation last week so I am still catching up on literally everything. One of the songs that came out while I was away and/or sleeping off jet lag was a great cover of the Kansas classic "Dust in the Wind."

The song is from the movie Queen of the Ring, in theaters tomorrow. Corey Taylor (Slipknot fame) and Bad Omens team up for this performance and I like it a lot. Everyone knows I love Bad Omens, so adding this to my playlist was a no brainer.

Motley Crue Residency Dates Moved

Vince Neil needs a medical procedure. Because of this, Motley Crue's Las Vegas residency will now start in September instead of later this month. That doesn't give folks who already bought flights and hotels much time to change things around, but it is what it is I guess.

The residency will take place at Dolby Live Park MGM. New show dates are listed below.

Tragedy On 'The 80s Cruise'

This is just awful. Kimberly Burch went overboard the ship on the first night of the cruise. Burch was the longtime partner of Faster Pussycat singer Taime Downe. Apparently the two had an argument and Burch went overboard that same night. Who knows if the two incidents are linked but it is all tragic.

I hope Kimberly's body is recovered.

ICYMI: Riley's L.A. Guns Update

Riley's L.A. Guns is officially over. After Steve Riley died, this was inevitable. Kelly Nickels posted on the band's Facebook a few days ago, making the announcement. As for Kelly himself, it sort of sounds like he is just done with the performance scene period, writing:

"...Doesn’t mean you won’t see me at some old Honky tonk joint jammin' around, but for now...we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds."

Limp Bizkit Covers The Who

Ok, I was probably living under a rock but I honestly did not know that Limp Bizkit of all bands covered The Who. And not just any cover either - we're talking "Behind Blue Eyes" here. The scary part? I kind of like the cover and think the band did a good job.

Bizkit's version is on their album Results May Vary (2003). So how did I come across this song? Completely randomly, that's how.

I was listening to my Amazon Music and was just shuffling through stations and the song came on. I was like, "What the hell is this?" and looked it up. My guess is Eric had been listening to Nu Metal or something while running and it changed my algorithm. Still, I am grateful for the discovery. Seriously.

Erik Grönwall Does Bon Jovi

Happy March! Just a few more days until Spring officially starts. Former Skid Row singer and reality TV star Erik Grönwall covered Bon Jovi awhile back and he did the band justice. "Livin' on a Prayer" is a heavily covered song no doubt, but it's hard to get right and not sound karaoke. I think Grönwall nailed it.

Tesla Respects Aerosmith Classic

As the Queen (and King) of Bring Back Glam! – I make all the topic decisions and that means you knew that an Aerosmith cover would pop-up on this list of best and unique covers.

Tesla released the album Full Throttle in 2023. The album includes the Aerosmith song “S.O.S. (Too Bad)” from the album Get Your Wings (1975).

Check out that cool Aerosmith shirt near the drum kit! Singer Jeff Keith sounds incredible here in that he matches Steven Tyler’s energy note for note. That is obviously hard to do. Mad respect.
