I Swear I Was Just Thinking About This Album

Picture it: Sunday afternoon, errand time. Eric and I are out, trying to get everything done that we don’t have time for during the week because all we do is work, when we decide to get a little lunch. We order and I pop into the ladies room to wash my hands (I prefer not to get the flu or covid, natch). What do I notice but “New Sensation” by INXS playing over the sound system. This was weird because the main restaurant was playing country (it’s Ohio) but someone in control of the restrooms had a better idea.

“New Sensation” is of course one of the amazing singles from Kick, originally released in 1987.

So I’m listening and thinking, “Isn’t it time for a special 180-gram vinyl version of Kick?” I had records on the brain because I had just scored the Def Leppard RSD exclusive among a few others. So I start poking around and I see that I missed the announcement bellow from Rhino of a 180-gram version of the album due May 1. So of course I’ll have to add this to my collection.

It’s too bad that INXS got snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, but they will get in eventually.
