Motley Crue Beats Mick Mars In Legal Battle
Motley Crue has won a legal victory over former guitarist Mick Mars.
Mick retired in 2022. Not long after that announcement, the lawsuits began. Mick said the rest of the Crue was ripping him off. He also alleged that the band members got together to push him out. He also argued that Nikki Sixx never played any bass live during the band’s 2022 tour. Nikki denied that of course. (I laughed at both sides on that one).
Regardless, an independent arbitrator ruled for the Crue and determined that Mick gave up his rights to touring revenue when he retired. Mick also has to pay more than $750,000 in unrecouped tour advances.
Of course, Motley released a statement regarding their victory. In that statement, they noted that Mick had to admit under oath that his allegations against Nikki not playing live were false.
I haven’t been able to find a statement from Mick. I assume he won’t issue one.
