‘Get The Funk Out!’

I’m late to the party I guess, but apparently Ultimate Classic Rock did a countdown of the 20 best hair metal guitar solos… and the top spot surprised me.

UCR gave Extreme’s “Get The Funk Out” top billing. Now, now doubt Nuno Bettencourt is a guitar god and the solo in “Funk” is amazing. But I’m still shocked.

Also, Extreme isn’t hair metal but that’s a topic for another day.

White Lion’s “Wait” came in at number 2, another shocker for me! By the number 3 spot, things start seeming more “normal” with Guns n’ Roses and “Sweet Child O’Mine.” Also, Slash has a better solo in “Estranged” and I will die on that hill. Also, GnR are not “hair metal” but whatever.

We call it Glam for a reason, kids! More inclusive.
