David Gilmour Announces Album, Film From Recent Tour
First, let me just say I cannot believe it is already August. We are officially on the backside of the year. I turn another year older later this month - can’t believe that either. I feel like I haven’t even had much of a summer as the days are flying by so quickly. Before you know it, the days will be dark and short and the weather cold and crappy. Makes me really sad just thinking about it.
On a happier note, my beloved guitarist David Gilmour will release a live album in October called The Luck and Strange Concerts. A concert film called Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome will come out September 17 to regular theaters and IMAX.
I will always be so grateful for seeing a stop on the ultra short (just 23 dates!) Luck and Strange tour last year. I figured the shows were all being pro-recorded. Eric and I sat close to the mix at Madison Square Garden and the amount of video recording equipment on hand was sort of insane. I don’t expect Gilmour to tour again - at least not in the U.S. Watching the movie version of this tour will be a nice memory to relive.
Of course you can buy all the different combinations of the new album and movie. A deluxe version comes with a massive book that has photos from the tour and the such.
