Remembering Drummer Frankie Banali Today
Five years ago today, Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. His widow, Regina, marked the anniversary with a heartfelt tribute and news of the official Frankie Banali Foundation, dedicated to raising awareness and funding for early detection of this often “silent” disease.
Diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2019 after seeking treatment for leg pain and shortness of breath, Frankie’s story underscores the importance of proactive health screenings. While it’s impossible to know if a full-body scan could have saved him, it’s clear it might have made a difference.
Since his passing, Regina has become a passionate advocate—fundraising for research and urging others to prioritize their health. On a personal note, I always think of Frankie on August 20, which also happens to be my birthday. Sharing his legacy and this vital message feels especially meaningful today.
